Especially with DCS using eye tracked dymnamic foveated rendering. Once you have seen that, well nothing else comes close. 2 Don B EVGA Z390 Dark MB | i9 9900k CPU @ 5.1 GHz | Gigabyte 4090 OC | 64 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 MHz CL16 | Corsair H150i Pro Cooler |Virpil CM3 Stick w/ Alpha Prime Grip 200mm ext| Virpil CM3 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Base w/ Alpha-L Grip| Point Control V2|Varjo Aero|

After all, if they were the same displays and lenses, wouldn’t they also have the same resolution. 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat

I hope the Crystal and the Aero don't end up being the only "higher end" options moving forward. The thing that puts me off the most with the Aero is its really small Vertical FOV (Like looking through letter box) and chromatic abberation issues along with loads of people complaining about smearing. The crystal is just too bulky for its FOV. Hopefully Valve steps back up to the plate (Although the index was never properly available in Australia anyway). Edited July 20, 2023 by BazzaLB
nikoel Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 (edited) These "journalists" need to do better. Especially for a website specialises in VR Article states that the resolution is greater on Q3, making readers think that they will get a better picture. Nothing can be further from the truth. Meta Quest 3 utilises a single LCD, splitting its resolution to 2064 by 2208 per eye. It has [stated] identical field of view to QP. This gives a lower pixel density of 19.8 PPD on the Q3 compared to Pro's 22.6. The reason the numbers don't match up is because the single LCD wastes more pixels as it goes across the width of the entire screen DFR wont be part of the experience as it doesn't have eye tracking As someone else has said, it can not have identical pancake lenses as the Pro uses two screens and has eye tracking which Q3 does not. I think they will still be very good, and Meta will bring forth what they learned with QP to Q3's specifically designed lenses It's not possible to release something for 33% of the price and make it superior without reasonable amount of time passing in-between the two products TLDR. The pixel density will be lower, and it will be harder to run than the QP Edited July 20, 2023 by nikoel 1
slughead Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 It seems to be a lot of conjecture to me. People love to make exaggerated headlines and love a bit of bashing (otherwise known as being negative for the sake of it) when the reality of the facts appears much more sublime. So Meta has said to their suppliers to hold on ordering parts, please. Sales are slow, we don't want to have to pay for and store a whole load of stock (so they can maximise their profit for the accounts - shareholders). So let's put the brakes on, as there's a cost of living crisis going on and folk are holding on to their cash, let our stock level come down and then rethink in the next quarter or half year. It's all about end-of-year profit. It's called business. I notice that the "report" (lol), has already posted an editorial update.... null 1 Slugmouse: a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now! Bazz_Mulder Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 (edited) Yeah, I though these will be just rumors and a scarcity tactic for clicks. Thanks for update. Edited July 23, 2023 by Bazz_Mulder 1 Kowalsky - "Fox 3" simply means that you have commitment issues
