Question about DLC for Old DCS steam version

Hi,there,I downloaded the old version of the DCS main program on steam (ver2.7.14) and I want to know if I buy a dlc,will it work with the old version(2.7.14)of DCS?THANKS A LOT!!!

All DLCs released prior to v2.7.14 will work, newer DLC will not.

Well, I assume that if Steam has 2.7.14 available, then its DLC should also be available for that version as well … but I have not tried it myself, as I always keep DCS updated to its latest version.

Yes, that would be correct. May I ask why do you want to run an old version of DCS that’s over a year old? You will be missing the performance advantage of multi-threading, the rebuilt FM of the Gazelle, the just released F-15E, etc etc.

Yes sir.In 2.7.14 we will got the AESA and advantaged long range missile(only singleplayer but I my 20 year life ,I never played Mutiplayer game.hahaha)

Before you get too far into it you might want to confirm that it has old versions available (esp. if it's PAID DLC).  If you can only get an updated version of the DLC it might not be compatible or might have bugs with that version of DCS due to changes.

Sorry, no idea as I don't use Steam at all.

Yes, the JF-17 is available in version 2.7.14
If you install the standalone version of the game from our website, you can use any old version (almost any). Of course, with the help of technical support ED.

note, if you downgrade to 2.7.14, you lose any updates or patches to that module made after that version as well.

Keep in mind ED keeps only a few recent version builds on their servers and after some time removes the very old ones for good.

Version 2.7.14 was published in May 2022, so it might just not be available to revert to anymore and even tech support won't be able to help (I'm just guessing,  haven't checked myself).
