SUHANG Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 Hi guys, as attached the mission. I made an JACT bombing mission for F 18. And I would use LST mode for flare to find the target with the help of the on ground target guider, which is a hammer. For the first target, I can bomb it accurately with the laser guiding. Then the guider would say "shift", but the target he was guiding still is the same artillery, which has been destroyed. Can someone help to find out what I made wrong? thanks JACT boming.miz
SUHANG Posted August 4, 2023 Author Posted August 4, 2023 I tried again and found out if the mark is "laser", rather than "smoke+laser", the shift would work.
SUHANG Posted August 13, 2023 Author Posted August 13, 2023 OK, I attached a track. I successfully bombed up one target. then the radio said shift, but the second bomb still go down to the first target. I didn't have the chance to bomb another target before I was shot down. But I tried several times, the bomb always go to the first target thought the ground cooperator said shift. If I make the ground cooperator direct the target only on "laser", rather than"smoke+laser", this problem would be solved. But I would have a smoke indicator to direct the target group. JACT problems.trk 1
ED Team NineLine Posted August 22, 2023 ED Team Posted August 22, 2023 So is only broken when you use "smoke+laser"? Is that correct? Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
SUHANG Posted August 30, 2023 Author Posted August 30, 2023 Yes, it is correct. I have hoped the ground director can use smoke to indicate the target group and then use laser to indicate the specific target. But it would shift to another target when the first destroyed. If use laser only, the problem solved. plus, if I use laser only, the position of the ground director is very important. It has to be close enough to the enemy, and there shall no trees or hill between the target and the ground director. Seems also the sun light has some effect to the laser as well. If the laser direction is straight to the sun, seems it would work as well.
Flappie Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Hi @SUHANG. I've just tried your track but it's not reliable anymore unfortunately (it was made in DCS 2.8), and it's been a long time since I used LST in DCS, let alone in the Hornet. Can you please redo your track with DCS 2.9? You can start replaying it, then press Escape and click "Take control" before the aircraft start falling to the ground. You'll save some time. Tag me when it's done so I can review it right away, and I'll report it. ---
