Playing MP, latest Stable. Hopping into the Slot, closing the canopy since it´s quite a weather out there.

Arming my jet (today with MK82 on left and right cft stations as well a a MK4 on center station)

I realize that no matter what ordonance i chose, nothing gets recognized in the ARMT screen. Or to be more exact: The counter is there (e.g. a "6" since i have 6 per station) but not the type of ordonance.

I can however manually assign the loadout through the A/G Load screen - which is working ok, but i do think that shouldn´t be necessary.

Or is it ? Did i miss anything ?

When in doubt - climb. Nobody ever collided with air.

Yes it is necessary. The jet cannot automatically ID the stores and must be told what they are.

Feels strange on a Jet like this...

It's pretty normal. Only the "dumb" stores won't auto-ID. Note that your air to air missiles do for example, as they are "smart". In the future I think "smart" AG munitions will also auto-ID, but we don't have any of those yet.

A dumb bomb has no way of telling the jet what it is.

Hm still strange since dumb stores also get ID´d on even older jets... But well, i see there´s no point discussing this on that early state of the module.

Also strange: After landing, re-arming and having re-assigned my stores, the sys seems to be unable to release any of it: Ordonance refuses to drop on any release mode...

What i did:

AgLoad page to assign loadout - set Prog1 as desired (e.g. CDIP, Step, NT)

Flying within parameters, Master Arm on, pickle - nothing.

edit: seems the ordonance wasn´t properly recognized after rearming. I tried to selective jettison the stations - which also did nothing, just as there were no bombs attached.

If you are using the same program, then try to deselect and reselect the pylons you wish to drop ordnance from. If that still doesn't work you may need to use prog2/3/4. There are some edge cases where it gets a bit grumpy about re-using the same program, at least from my experiences.

Failing that I would make sure that you are in parameters for weapon release with CDIP. If you are out of parameters, pressing and/or holding the Weapon Release will transition you to AUTO until you are within parameters or release the button. It is similar in operation to CCIP in the Viper.

yeah i´m familiar with cdip, i´ll try the next programs next time 🙂 Thanks for the help

So i´ve tried some more landings, rearming and refueling. Seems like every time i enter the server, select my slot, rearm, assign my ordonance on the A/G load page and takeoff, everything works fine. Bombs away.

After a sortie, landing, rearming and re-assigning loadout, it does work on first sight BUT: Actually dropping any ordonance afterwards won´t.

I´ve tried using Prog 2, 3 and 4 instead as mentioned, same results so far.

Be specific, please. F-14 RIO also has to select stations and weapon types manually. Nothing strange about it.

Don't know what to suggest, have done what you are describing hundreds of times now without issue - maybe post some screenshots of what your ARMT A/G page looks like on your second sortie.

The only thing I can think of is one of the following:

- You are taxiing the jet before hearing "Rearm Complete" from the ground crew, this is known to cause issues in many modules.
- You didn't set up the new ordnance to the program before trying to use it.

This is just a realism design choice, not a old/new jet thing.  All jets need to be told what armament they have unless they support a data link between the ordnance and jet.  It's just that most of the other modules automagically do so when you jump in it in DCS.

Well, today i flew again and did just the very same things. And it just worked flawlessly. Again and Again.

So i don´t know either 🙂

Guess either we´ve found some quantum bug traveling through dimensions or i overlooked something important these days.

Case closed for me, doesn´t make much sense to guess what i can´t reproduce.
