will it be possible to save the programmed master modes for more than one flight. Then bring up the saved modes anytime later ?

That is the very reason we are eagerly awaiting implementation of (DTC) Data Cartridge.
Something like setting up your master modes preferences for each jet, save it to your call sign name, get in he jet and load it into the system. Further mission specific alteration can be done perhaps during startup.
So we are expecting ED to finish work on this feature. No much has been said about it in recent times.
