Unable to get a response from Ground Crew

I’m sorry if I’m doing something stupid, but I can’t get the ground crew to respond or follow any requests after a cold/dark start up.  Most importantly I can’t get them to pull the new chocks that are in place at a cold start.  I am able to talk to ATC to request engine start, taxi, etc.  I’m at a friendly base.

I’m using the Multi Thread version.  An easy one to use to duplicate is Instant Action, Sinai Map, Cold Start.

Thank you for your time.

If you have the canopy closed, then you need to use the Intercom ... see page 181 of the manual.

For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra

For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar

Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

This works.  I figured it was something I was doing wrong.  I have to say though this is a little silly.  With the canopy up and APU or engines running you should have to use the intercom regardless.  No big deal though.  Thank you!!

Other modules don't make this distinction. I guess in the A-10C that's for two reasons: a) it's the way it has been modeled and why change it now? and b) the A-10C does have an Intercom selector on the Comm panel, and I'm not sure other modules have a comparable switch/dial.

Unless it's rainy or very windy, keeping the canopy open all the way until before takeoff is the way to go in the A-10 community anyway. 😄

IIRC the Hind needs to have to door open or Intercom on. I'm sure there are others.
I use VAICOM and use the Intercom in all modules anyway, so I don't really remember.

I also notice that if you move the wheels in any way, like testing your rudder it will also not work out. Basically, remove the chocks as soon as you enter the jet!
