I've just realized it. There's nothing, quite literally. Are there any audio samples that are supposed to be audible but arent?

Are their any 'SDEF files' where you can change the gain number to increase the volume? Or is their literally no buffeting audio files to edit in the F-5?

I change the gain for things like aircraft high-G stress, such as the Viggen and some F-14 'SDEF files.' As I used to rip off the wings in the Viggen without even hearing the aircraft groan.

Oh wow! I just looked in the main DCS folder and it seems that all the ED aircraft modules don't even have a Sounds folder to change the volume in the SDEF files...

PLEASE don't give up on it 😄

I find it hard to believe that F-5E audio files lack the control files. Those were common, as far as I remember, all the way from Black Shark 1 times, ~2010.

Are you aware that the Resource Monitor shows disc access for specific files in real-time?

EDIT:

Another tool for that is

It is a file called 'Sounds.edce.' In the Main DCS F-5 folder. I think for new/modded sounds (for ED modules) the files need to go in the saved games folder but if their is no buffeting sound code to begin with, the volume can't be increased.

D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F-5E\Sounds.edce

Not a single *.sdef file contains any of the following:

buffet

shake

vibration

Sounds.edce

Not a single *.lua file contains any of the following in either audio or FM context:

buffet

shake

vibration

Sounds.edce

D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Doc\Sounds\example.sdef

contains sdef usage description.

In conclusion: There's not a wiff of a trail to follow with this.

You used WizTree to open the file? Is that from the Microsoft Store?

Is their any word from ED on this? I also noticed the pilot has really low detail textures. Especially the helmet.

No. WizFile is an instant file finder. Faster even than the pre-Vista Windows Search. Not to mention Windows 10+ search. WizTree, in addition to creating a visual map of files, can also be used for ultra fast searching.

I don't know whether you're talking about external or internal models but those two mod makers pretty much did what there can be done as far as re-texturing goes:

Kind of related:

I think I've read somewhere the But kicker creators have some integrations ready for some of DCS aircraft that is NOT based solely on audio input. Any info on any kind of work with the aim to expose some vibration telemetry officially in DCS?

I don't believe the F-5 has any native telemetry for that kind of effect - usually this is derived indirectly from telemetry for airspeed, g, AOA, engine RPM, etc.

No idea.

Or just ask for establishing hooks and relevant template sdef files. There's plenty of rumble audio on the internet 🙂

If you have a good source for genuine F-5 in-cockpit buffeting sounds, please share.

I was talking about generic rumble sounds. You know, the kind infinitely better than the current silence 😉  Hell, I doubt a single soul would complain if you slap Dora's buffeting on that first implementation 😄 Seriously, brilliant work on the Dora! A methanol-injected symphony with a live airframe. Some people don't remember but F-5E has already received an engine audio update in the past, to a very positive effect. Now we just need a touch on the airframe...
