Hi,

I am not sure why this doesn't work since I am able to toss bombs in CCRP in the mission editor..

I set up as the mission briefing requires i.e. break off north and hit the deck at about 200ft AGL, turn in and intercept an inbound course of 154 towards steerpoint 4, I see the release queue marker above and the "director" below, circle appears and then flashes as usual. I start a 4g pull and follow the flight director marker right onto the "CCRP" director (i.e. the one that should pass through the release queue after pitching up) but it never does and I end up flying straight up vertically without any release..

I've tried to set the bomb angle to 35 from 45 degrees but nothing happens.. Tried about 4 times and gave up, this is using the latest open beta btw.. It probably has nothing to do with the campaign? Maybe the latest release messed something up with the CBU-78???

Probably not a campaign issue, nothing I've set in the editor should interfere with this, but I saw in the change log some changes to CCIP and CCRP, so it's possible the methodology has changed slightly.

I confirmed now in the mission editor that its not related to the campaign, the CBU 78 seems to be bugged after the latest release, tried at different airspeeds, altitudes and release angles, still no weapons release.

Ok thanks, is that just in toss mode?

Seems like it, btw I mean "toss" as in being in CCRP mode and pulling up at the maximum range marker (circle flashing right before) not the "dive toss" DTOS.

The bombs seem to drop normally in CCRP in level flight though.

I had the same issue...

I needed 4 pass to manage  to release bombs....And i tried this part of the mission multiple times before release (using the demo mission from Discord) and I remember being able to toss at first pass.

Also on a side note @ChillNG i released both bombs....maybe in the briefing could be suggested to use only one...as later I had to refuse what popeye asked (I don't want to spoiler).

I managed to release ok with CCIP and CCRP (level), but both went long, even when i tried to aim short.  Probably a minor bug in the Viper since update.  Think there is a note to say drop one bomb in the brief, but I'll check how obvious it is.

When the toss worked (again at the forth pass) it worked like  a  charm.

They go long if you set the bomb settings for too high altitude, for example i had my bombs at the default 1500 ft and tried to drop them at 500 feet so they went long. After having correct altitude for the bomb settings they hit where they were supposed to.

Ah that might be int then, thanks!

may i ask why 87's are used instead of 97's still new to full terminology and am learning the viper currently. i was led to believe 87 was cem for anti personel? im yet to manage to get all targets my scored is 80 i ithink but i want that perfect 100 many thjanks for the campaign

No problem, my pleasure.  87s are for anti personal and light vehicles so perfect for an SA2 site.  97s are more for armour so would be overkill, and I would imagine in real life a lot more expensive.

So what is the more correct altitude setting for the clusters in this mission?  Thx.

I never adjust the settings on the CBU, leave it at default.  You just need to be aware of how the CBUs behave, in CCIP they tend to go a little long so aim slightly short.  Really good example of the attack by Bogey Dope:
