Hi,

Compass North reference lines do not move as intended making it difficult to read the magnetic course (screenshot attached).

Best,

Lau

I think this is (finally!) correct. Not many YouTube videos out there of the P8, and this isn't the best, but you can clearly see that the needle and the reference lines are not locked together.

They're "locked" with glass they're painted on, however 😉 . That's the point. Lau's post might be a bit confusing, but his screen shows what the problem is.

The video posted by Jackill here shows it better in motion. The housing rotates, but the glass (with its lines) stays in place.

@Art-J Absolutely right, I should have said compass course i/o magnetic course. I did not provide more details since the problem is so obvious for a person actually navigating with the compass as is, you can't miss it. The reference yellow lines moving with the North marker on the outer dial of the compass are really handy to compensate the weird view angle that is required to view the compass behind the control column, I mean in our ED virtual world. I have seen some videos of people binding a key to bring them to a perfect and close up view on top of the compass, I use the dirty way of leaning forward with the TrackIR. While it is satisfying in the way that it makes you feel in the cockpit, the reading of the compass is always a challenge.
