We would like to make the K-3 Tanker as well, but our tankers...well...they do not deliver any fuel. If you found the solution to that problem, we could finally make our KC-10 work as well, which would be great Cheers, PeeJott (from the VSN-Team). This is amazing! All I can think of is contacting the Superbug team as they had a working ai tanker version. 3 1 vCVW-7 - Now Recruiting - JST
Reccelow Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 The Superbug tanker is the best example of a great AI tanker mod. I use a method of model re-role to use it in other scenarios I swap out the models and lods by simple filename changes to get a "KA6" fascicle that does work but is insanely difficult to stay connected as the hose and basket doesn't show and of course I cant load the tanks or centerline pylon..... But it looks a little better than tanking off a Super Hornet in 1980's......I believe the S3's were not in service until later either. 3

DmanGIV Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 I got a chance to test fly off the Enterprise. I've always loved this ship. The Hornet was fine, but I noticed the Tomcat (A model) had some difficulty hooking up to the cats. When it did hook up, it bounced around and would smack the tail on the ship before it was hooked. It did launch fine, but looking at the external view, It did show some damage from the damage model. Overall I think its a great start! I am enjoying seeing her in DCS.

I just had 12 AI take-off and land on a slightly updated version, with no problems. The F-14A you're using is from Heatblur or a different one? Thanks for the kind words
DmanGIV Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 It seems to do it with both the B and A.. the VSN F-4 is fine as far as that goes also. So far I’ve only experienced this hook up issue with the HB Tomcat

So far I’ve only experienced this hook up issue with the HB Tomcat For me the hook-up with U doesn't work at all right now. My test is start from Runway, hit U to detach, hit U to attach. Nothing happens right now. It was working in the past, not sure what happened. Can you still hook-up to the catapult with any plane right now? 1
DmanGIV Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 With the Tomcat, the plane needs to be positioned well past the cat shuttle. I think the shuttle hook up for the HB Tomcat is too far aft. I taxied past it and kept pressing U until I saw the shuttle move.

I saw the jumping Tomcat then as well, documented in this video. I need to figure out what's wrong now. 2
TeTeT Posted November 2, 2024 Author Posted November 2, 2024 Seems we found the core reason to be in the Runway and Taxi routes definitions for the cat. We moved them back by 3.5 meters now, testing is still on-going. We have some problems with cat 4 hook-ups, rest seems to be sorted. Stay tuned for 0.1.1 update if the tests are good. 3
TeTeT Posted November 2, 2024 Author Posted November 2, 2024 This is the second beta release for the CVN-65 USS Enterprise modern for DCS. Major changes were done by James J Jackson and TeTeT on the Database\EnterpriseRunwaysAndRoutes.lua and some changes to cvn-65.lua. We hope to address the two issues of: TACAN and ICLS not working well (works better on F18, fails on F14) Difficulty to hook-up on cat repeatedly Further the JBD1 was added to the distance lod, and JBD4 fixed, so it looks better in the DCS Mission Editor. https://github.com/tspindler-cms/vwv-cvn65-modern/releases 3
DmanGIV Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 Can’t wait. Thank you for doing this ship!! 2
Reccelow Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 F-14 hooking up easily and first try every time now in this spot. Nice work. 3
DmanGIV Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 I just did a super fast test with the HB Tomcat. Hook up was good!!! Super excited to have this functional in sim! Great Job and Thanks again! 1
TeTeT Posted November 3, 2024 Author Posted November 3, 2024 Glad it works better now! Recent Moving Mud podcast by SideKick65 has a ton of stills from the mod, if you're interested in the history of Iron Bombing, check it out: 2
Reccelow Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 Update to Essex class Airboss: I replaced the A4 as a fake tanker (as it may not launch, bottling up the catapult) Your wingman follows him to Cat 2. Also includes the updated Moose ver 2.99 with both the Essex class and the Enterprise enabled. Events should go like this: You load hot, taxi to Cat 2 and hookup Wait for the Plane Guard to clear the deck and take up station, the tanker will be making his way to Cat 1, folled by your wingman In about 5 minutes or so you'll here the carrier call the turn into the wind Once the ship is on BRC, you'll get the message that air ops are underway Launch and depart per NATOPS. Tanker will depart after you then you wingman When ready to recover , get inside the CCZ (40nm from carrier) hit F10 and select Airboss, request marshal. Full instructions, options, manual and tons of info here: https://flightcontrol-master.github.io/MOOSE_DOCS_DEVELOP/Documentation/Ops.Airboss.html A flight of 4 A-4's will be entering the pattern at some point keep an eye out Just imagine how cool this will be with an A-3 tanker! Devil 505 Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 (edited) Getting after it in the OV-10 mod. I encourage you all to go show support on the dev forum and let them know how much you appreciate it. It is abandoned at the moment with no intention in the near future if at all to continue the project. I would hate to loose this mod until someone decides to make an official 3rd party. TeTeT Posted November 7, 2024 Author Posted November 7, 2024 Welcome to Vietnam War Vessels 0.7.0! In this update, we have introduced the O-1 Bird Dog (AI) light observation aircraft, along with two Indochine-style huts. The O-1 is a low-speed plane designed to support CAS missions; while jets handle the skies, the Bird Dog stays close to the ground, marking targets with its smoke rockets. It comes with four liveries: two Air Force, one Marine, and one Norwegian. We have also refined some existing assets. The A-1 Skyraider now features the unique "toilet bomb" loadout, and the CVA-31 Bon Homme Richard has received several visual improvements, including rearranged textures for the main mast, gangways, rescue boats, davits, and the LSO platform. Additionally, catapult operations on the Bon Homme Richard have been revamped, making it easier to connect with the catapults for takeoff. Our thanks go to Odyseus, Pirat3n, Hawkeye60, Citizen, James J. Jackson and mrflyboy - developers and testers of the mod. https://github.com/tspindler-cms/tetet-vwv/releases 2024-11-07 A-1 Skyraider - Fix toilet bomb pylon position - Reduce toilet bomb count to 1 from 50 MiG-17F "Fresco-C" - Fix distance lods CVA-31 Bon Homme Richard - Close bottom of LSO station DD-731 Maddox - Enable firing sounds for three main turrets 2024-11-05 buildings - Initial release of two Indochinese huts from Pirat3n A-1 Skyraider - Add infamous toilet bomb as loadout MiG-17F "Fresco-C" - Use correct distance lod edms O-1 Bird Dog - Initial release of this light observation aircraft CVA-31 Bon Homme Richard - Texture updates for island, LSO and rescue boat - Improved hook-up behaviour on both cats - Use a different wake class (Arleigh Burke) - Add CVS16 routes 2 8

I think the project is far from being dead, it just takes a break.

The mod was made entirely by a developer by the name of Split-Air. His hard drives apparently failed and there were no backups. We were told there is a good chance the Bronco stops there at the last release. Hope I am wrong about that. Maybe there is a chance with some older files? I posted the link to their thread below.

Thank you for the clarification! It is much appreciated. The mod still runs great as is. We use it almost weekly on our server over the Marianas. Thanks for the quick reply and making sure it was communicated correctly. 1
Devil 505 Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Working on getting your Skyraider added to our Carrier deck and expect to see it out of Anderson AF here soon in the video below. Until we get an actual flyable mod or the 3rd party gets released, we have to settle with the P-47 and a Skyraider livery. Not complaining though, it works great. Only problem is in Multiplayer, we fly with realistic radios and no other aircraft goes back that old so we have trouble staying in comms when one of us takes the old girl up. Here is me flying solo tonight taking out a group of NVA. Should have this mission out soon for the public. It will also have the P-47 in there. 2
