Silver_ Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 Situation: When I change the C&I selector to backup to communicate (transmit) through the guard channel previously selected on the switch indicated with the red arrow, the DED, as normal, shows me the guard frequency (previously I had a preset set in for example, channel 8). When I go back to normal mode (C&I to UFC) the preset I had disappears and instead of showing me channel 8, the DED continues to show me the guard frequency. I understand that this should not be like this. Please correct it. Thank you.
ED Team Lord Vader Posted December 19, 2023 ED Team Posted December 19, 2023 Hello @Silver_ I'm a bit confused with what you're trying to convey here. If you have publicly available information that states the radio should retain the last tuned frequency/preset when switching C&I, please send this reference to @BIGNEWY. Silver_ Posted December 19, 2023 Author Posted December 19, 2023 (edited) What I want to tell you is that in UFC mode (C&I switch) you use one radio and in Backup mode you use another (emergency radio, normally the one preselected with the switches on the left panel). When you change to UFC, the UFC presintonized configuration of tuning/channel must remain in the radio and when you change to Backup, the radio presintonized (in lateral panel) configuration tunning/channel must remain in backup, I think it is simple to understand. This does not happen in your current software. Edited December 19, 2023 by Silver_

Understood, but we can not make any change without evidence that the logic should work that way in the aircraft. If you do have unclassified evidence of this feel free to PM me. thank you Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Moonshine Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 not sure why you are using the backup radio just to use guard to transmit, you can do that in normal operations by setting the respective radio switch to guard instead of squelch upon returning the switch back to squelch, you are back to the frequency you have previously had selected as either your UHF or VHF radio GUARD_channel_transmit.trk 1
Silver_ Posted December 19, 2023 Author Posted December 19, 2023 (edited) I like your way, it's better, but try PRESETs. You're going to get a surprise. I add the track I made to demonstrate the illogicality. Let's see if I can convince DCS. Thank you so much @Moonshine DemoWithPresets.trk PD; Without presets goes like a champ, with it NO. Silver_ Posted December 19, 2023 Author Posted December 19, 2023 I hope DCS takes note of this and doesn't ask for more evidence.
Silver_ Posted January 9, 2024 Author Posted January 9, 2024 Gentlemen of DCS, when you do not have evidence, please I ask you to use logic in your programming, it is easy to apply in this case, and do not program things crazy. Also, I don't know why they label all the messages that don't interest them as "needs evidence" when this simulator is not going to be used for military purposes, its only for entertainment.

As mentioned before, if anyone has unclassified evidence PM me. We have made changes in the past that were based on assumption or logic which later turned out to be wrong, it wastes time and money. We need to see evidence. thank you Forum rules - DCS Crashing?
