coopercobra03 Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 (edited) To turn chatter on just switch the squelch toggle on the R-800 radio panel. This gives you about 10 minutes of random radio chatter taken from YouTube Apache cockpit radio clips (Sounds/Effects/replace static.ogg with the new one). http://rapidshare.de/files/46420262/radio_chatter.rar.html Edited March 29, 2009 by coopercobra03 4

coopercobra03 Posted March 30, 2009 Author Posted March 30, 2009 Nice work, love it. Could you make it a bit louder and longer? Thx I can make it louder! But not longer! I did have it over 30 minutes long but the game crashes. 15 minutes didn't crash but for some reason it didn't want to play? So I had to reduce it to 10 minutes.. I made the volume low because it's going to loop every 10 min, So it might get annoying.. I will post a louder one. 1

Frakin Toasters Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 All in American though! Too bad :P Perhaps that is the switch the Russian's use to listen in on those pesky yanks?

geloxo Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Nice idea. Probably one solution to get more lenght is to reproduce different files when you tune different radio frequencies. In some MP missions I listened to the local radio station (was it radio Mayala or something like that?), which played songs and voices from a simulated radio station so it would be a chance to try that way... Now don´t ask me how to do that in game :P Cheers

I've tried to edit the radio mayak files in the game and tried to make other radio stations around the map but I couldn't get it to work right! I know it can be done somehow and it would be a better solution! I'll keep trying!

Zorg_DK Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 There is a lot of pauses in the file. I've edited the long pauses out and amplified the volume. You could do the same. I can also upload the file. Distiler Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 What about using live ATC chatter? can a stream be implemented as a mod? for example there are many at http://www.liveatc.net AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2

Feuerfalke Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 What about using live ATC chatter? can a stream be implemented as a mod? for example there are many at http://www.liveatc.net I usually have that running in the background while flying. Sharkster64 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I'm curious, is it possible to put a different sound file on the squelch for the R-828 as well. I noticed that if I switch to my R-828, and turn squelch on, it uses the same static file. There must be a way to alter one of the .lua files to use a different sound for that radio. Ideally I would like to have some ground communication sound file on the R-828 squelch, and an air communication sound file on the R-800 squelch. :helpsmilie: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Call Sign: Warhammer
