Tom P Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 It's super annoying when you're supposed to be a sneaky attack/recon helicopter but the enemy can see you and engage you even when there is no possible way of Line of sight(LOS). For example, I was in multi situations where the KS-19 was engaging me with accurate fires when there was no way they should have been able to see me or get rounds accurately on me Situation 1. I'm almost 3nm away from the KS19 hovering at 10ft behind some very dense woodline and some other terrain features between myself and the KS19. And the KS19 is getting rounds through the woodline and lighting me up with zero LOS. I never exposed myself prior to the engagement. null Situation 2. I broke contact from that last location and I'm almost 4nm away. Now in an opening in the woodline hovering at 10ft getting lit up with accurate fires by a KS19 with no LOS. I had to wait for a fixed wing to drop a bomb on it before I could contribute to the game. null Situation 3. I'm 7nm away flying through a valley using a mountain as cover(in dead space and defilade with 0 chance of LOS) and a KS19 is engaging me with accurate track. When I try to expose myself enough so the FCR can scan I already have accurate rounds on me. Situation 4. I'm using a building as cover. The KS-19s leveled the building to get to me.. It's just a game killer when the AI knows where you are when in reality they wouldn't. I have made another post about this but apparently it's just a skill issue. 3

Tom P Posted January 13, 2024 Author Posted January 13, 2024 (edited) nullSorry but ZSU-57s as well.. We were using the terrain to conceal our movement to engage on it but it tracked us the whole way. Every time we popped up to unmask the FCR for a scan we were greeted with rounds zipping by. Flappie Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Strange. I had tried the ZU-57 along with other units (Shilka, S-60, KS-19 and Tunguska) when I reported the KS-19/S-60 issue to devs, and the Zu-57 would not follow me behind mountains. I'll give it another go. ---
Flappie Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 I cannot reproduce the problem. I'll need a track showing your issue. Zu-57 OK.trk ---

Tom P Posted January 14, 2024 Author Posted January 14, 2024 If it means anything it was a online multiplayer mission, Red being AI.
Flappie Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 Good point. I'll switch my mission to MP and run it on a dedicated server. ---
Flappie Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 (edited) No luck in MP either. MP_Zu-57-20240114-121829.trk server-20240114-121816.trk Edited January 14, 2024 by Flappie ---

Czar66 Posted January 28, 2024 Posted January 28, 2024 Sa-11 Gadfly guiding a missile to a target behind ground masking. Missile adjusted to my maneuver after the guiding radar lost LOS on me. After masking I had zero RWR warning until being hit. No jamming. Mission was made with briefing room. I'm using no mods. Open Beta. Tom P Posted January 28, 2024 Author Posted January 28, 2024 Interesting, I also had a SA11 take me out last night when I switched to a F16 had zero rwr warning...
Tom P Posted February 22, 2024 Author Posted February 22, 2024 Hey @Flappie was the AI tracking fixed in the new 2.9.3.51704 patch? I didn't see it mentioned but I know some stuff doesn't make the list.
Vakarian Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 From the changelog, CA section * Fixed issue with ground units that in some cases allowed them to track targets without clear LOS (AAA and SAM tracking target behind mountain). 1
Flappie Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 Hi @Tom P, yes it was fixed. If you see any other unit seeing through mountains, please open a new thread. 1 ---
