Nedum Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Hello all, I've tested the AH64 these days, and I am always hovering much too high over the seat (feels like 20 cm too high). I have the same feeling the whole time in the F16, but not that big as in the AH64. I always center the view position, but that doesn't fix the height issue. No mods, nothing else change in any file. Did many slow repairs, but especially in the AH64, the head of the side click (VR) is near my (real) knees. I am sitting much too high in the AH64. Anyone who knows a fix? Is this a known issue with DCS or is it a problem with my VR setup? speed-of-heat Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Try renaming your current dcs saved games directory, which will create a new one? If it doesn't work just delete the new one rename the first. Nedum Posted January 3, 2024 Author Posted January 3, 2024 (edited) @speed-of-heat thank you, but that wasn't the problem. The issue was, I was playing with the size of the environment (OpenXR Toolkit). My setting was 120%, went down to 100% again, and now all looks good. The only "issue" is now, the cockpit of the 190 D is so small, if I move my head a little bit my head is outside the cockpit. It feels like my shoulders are the hole time outside the cockpit too. I would never have fit in this little bird. That thing is too small for me, and I am not a big man (180 cm high, chest is 117 cm). The size of this bird is the right one. Seems to be a little bit off for me. But anyway, now most of the planes fit with the height again. Slick Twitchy Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 You can change the default location of your pilot, and then save it. I can't remember exactly the commands - I think like RGT CTRL & RGT SHIFT (together) and then move with the keypad. Then save with CTRL/FUNCTION (together) Keypad 0. Not the exact keys probably, but move view with the Keypad. The new saved position will be your Center VR position from then on. 1 CRX-Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K;4090; Varjo Aero; Winwing UFC/HUD/MFDs/Throttle/PTO Panel/Combat Panel; Winwing F-18 joystick; Buttkickers; Monstertech flight seat; PointCTRL.

Habu_69 Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 You can also directly edit all the views, including defaultVR, for all aircraft in the following file: Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\View\SnapViews.lua. Seat height is y_trans. 1

Aussie Pilot Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 I'm still new to this but something I read is that on the VR Tab in setting you can change the value of "Force IPD Distance". I think the default value is 63.5 but if you make it bigger the cockpit gets smaller around you, and if you go smaller it's bigger. (or the other way around lol.) But it affects all cockpits. Check your settings, you can also do it while sitting in the cockpit. Cheers, Aussie Pilot.
