DCS World 2024 Screenshots and Video Thread

Recommended Posts

After proping around for a few weeks, I needed some jet fuel in my veins again. I just got my TM F18 grip for my Brunner Force Feedback base, I just wasn't happy with my two Virpil grips, didn't like the aesthetics or ergonomics. But most importantly none of the 4 way switches worked right, it might be a conflict with the brunner base, but all 4 way switches had a tendency to be over sensitive. So you trim up but also trim left wing or right wing down, you try and select a weapon and you keep selecting wrong weapons.

And using stuff like Tpods was not very fun, you try and do a point lock in the A10 and you give a completely different command to the Tpod. So far the TM F18 stick seems better in this regard, even if it's technically a lower quality thing.

A 2 round guns only dogfight against a Su27. Second round was a true pyrrhic victory as I ran out of fuel just as it hit the 27..

I had to check and it's been over a year and a half since last I flew the Hind. And I only got like 2 hours in it back then.
Surprisingly easy to get back into.
A few refresher vidoes and off I went. Also tried guided missile for the first time. With a tiny bit of success. It's a fantastic rocket platform. Found it much easier to get rockets on target vs the Apache.

And it's a fantastically smooth ride with Force feedback stick.

Need to do more Hind stuff.

I don't know of a Discord for the SFROG MP but I followed this guy in to land at Anapa.   It was cool the way the fire seemed to spread from the damaged, shut down engine.  Squeaked it in 30 secs before the reset.

Gazelle Green World. Mission inspired by one I found the the book Scouts Out! But had to DCS it up.

I set my pedals for helicopter mode, and even though it takes 30 seconds to set them up for fixed wing, I'm too lazy and so it's helicopters for a while. Night mission in the Gazelle, super close air support, just what the .50 cal pod was made for.

Sadly DCS's lack of proper frag modeling hits again, as a technical just drives by as rockets hits all around it. a HE/Frag warhead hitting the ground 5 meters from the truck doesn't seem to bother it, you'd think the truck and more importantly the gunner would get riddled with frags, but not in DCS

Using the Longbow FCR for the first time. I don't think anything else in DCS is as effective at just wiping out all things in front of it.

We met lots of opposition, tracers and heatseaking missiles were used freely by the defenders as we went in close for guns and rockets.

Needed to run through the 40 minutes track file 8 times to get all the external footage I wanted.
