solved MT VR Access Violation on exit after any flight involving the F-16

All flights are VR, whenever I'm using the F-16 it will crash when I try to exit the game and I have to go through the popup screens. The popups are not clickable because they are in 2D and the VR has stopped, the mouse is trapped in the VR.

It's not F-16 exclusive though, some flights of other aircraft it has happened but the F-16 is the one I fly the most and also most reproducable.

I have the dxgui.dll error most of the crashes.

Are you using a different Font Message Scale or Scale Gui in Settings?

Seeing these as well. Don't have an answer but you can usually hit escape a couple of times to get clear of the error messages when in VR and it crashes.

What font scale would count as different? Mine is 1.5 but I'm not sure what the default is.

I shouldn't go alot smaller because Pimax Crystal resolution is huge.

I originally had Scale GUI as a source of instability.
This was not confirmed because CTD occurs even without scaling.

I've tried mine at 1.0 and it agree there's no difference. 

Today I tried just the default aircraft Su-25T instant action Caucasus then exit DCS. Still got the crash. 

Happens in 2D or VR. 

I feel like it's just better to go to task manager and kill DCS rather than using the exit option.

Before ED fixes it I'm considering shutting down DCS using task manager,

no long waits with a black screen and deleting the temp directory is in the order of milliseconds.

Please try this:

1. Browse to "Saved Games/DCS...".
2. Rename your "Scripts" to "Scripts.bak".
3. Start DCS and fly the F-16.
4. Close DCS. Does it crash this time?

Hello everyone, the issue was found, it was due to a problem in the mod TheWay, which I have created. This has now been fixed in the most recent version found here.

There will not be any crashes when exiting the game anymore. My apologies for the confusion.
