40 mm Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 I went to play this morning, and when I turned on BVR in the Su-27 and turned on my radar, the target designator is stuck moving down. I am baffled trying to trouble shoot this. I initially thought it must be some issue with my system because nothing has changed with the game since yesterday. I updated windows and made sure DCS was updated. First I switched to the F-15. The target designator is also stuck always moving down in the F-15 too. I Checked my hotas incase it was broken. Unplugged it. The target designator still always moves down. Checked my keyboard in case that binding was making the problem. I removed ALL bindings from all controls to target designator down. I tried both regular stable and MT versions. Restarted the computer and DCS multiple times, and it is still happening. I can't make sense of it. Has anyone else had this issue?
Flappie Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 (edited) It sounds like one of your axis is considered to be a slider (0 to 100%), not a standard axis (-100 to +100%) anymore. I don't think you can do this globally with DCS (you can tell an axis to be a slider but only on an aircraft+axis basis). Check the settings of whatever software you're using with your HOTAS. Thank you! It wasn't exactly this, but I did go check in my axis commands and the TDC slew vertical was showing as always pointed down. This had been bound by default to the little joystick I can manipulate on the throttle with my index finger. I prefer to use four-way buttons for the target designator, so I didn't know this joystick was also bound in the axis commands. It seems to have had a little stickiness and was stuck in the down position so I flicked it and it is working, although it will get stuck a little again. Totally able work around it. I have a Thrustmaster 1600 because I just started about a year ago. Maybe time to get a better throttle now! Thank you so much for your help. It was a sticky index finger joystick I didn't realize was bound to the target designator!
