mytai01
Interesting how fast the wings sweep in the video. Is this only because it's a D model? 2 MS Win7 Pro x64, Intel i7-6700K 4.0Ghz, Corsair RAM 16Gb,EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0, w/ Adjustable RGB LED Graphics Card 08G-P4-6286-KR, Creative Labs SB X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty Champ PCIe Sound Card, Corsair Neutron XTI 1TB SSD, TM Warthog Throttle & Stick, TM TPR Pedels, Oculus Rift VR Headset CV1, Klipsch Promedia 4.1 Speakers... Nealius
Roughly 4.6 seconds to 68. In DCS, selecting BOMB then immediately AFT takes almost 8 seconds. Unsweep in the video also approximately 8 seconds, in DCS on the carrier break selecting AUTO takes 10 seconds. Unless there's something special to the D or DFCS Tomcats, our DCS version has some timing issues on sweep/unsweep.
draconus
B NATOPS mentions wing sweep rate as approximately 15° per second if not restrained by G or hydraulics. FR4GGL3
Hmmm. Did I hear "Wings are in manual" a few moments before he swept the Wings back? Could it be that he use the Emergency Wing Sweep Lever instead of the knob on the Thrustlever? Could that be any faster via Emergency Wing Sweep Lever? 14700K | MSI Z690 Carbon | Gigabyte 4090 Gaming OC | 64GB DDR5 6000 G.Skill Ripjaws S5 | Creative SoundBlaster X-FI Titanium HD on a Violectric V90 Headphone amp and Fostex TH600 Headphones | LG 42 C227LA & Samsung C32HG70 | TrackIR 5 | Virpil WarBRD with VFX Grip | Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle | VKB T-Rudder Pedals MK IV I only fool around the F-14 - and still having a hard time on it as there is so much to learn and so little time and talent. Nealius
Knob on the throttle is also manual, and the E-sweep lever moves with it. If my math is right then 15deg/sec going from 20 to 68 should take 3.2 seconds. When straight and level on CASE I commence it takes 8 seconds. I wonder what makes it so slow in DCS. In auto mode, the sweep is determined based on the airspeed and other factors. It's not necessarily changing position at the maximum rate. The only way to get maximum rate is by using the manual mode one g. Sweep at Commence is manual mode at 1G, yet it takes 8 seconds. On the deck after a trap is manual mode at 1G. Also takes 8 seconds.
