Nealius Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 I use the old -18C models for deck statics as they don't impact performance, unlike the Lot20 which will destroy framerates in VR. However, with the wings folded the collision model still appears to think the wings are unfolded. Note the distance between my nose and the wing fold. At this distance I hit the static's collision model despite there not being anything physically there. Static UH-60s have the same problem with the folded tail. 1
rob10 Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 (edited) Not sure that isn't actually an issue with the nose of client planes. I've been just about exactly that same position with another client plane in MP (he was parked) and had the same issue and I've seen it with others at different times so I don't think it's desync. Flappie Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 (edited) F-18C model (bug): F/A-18C Lot 20 model (no bug): Issue reported. Edited April 1, 2024 by Flappie 1 ---
rob10 Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 So is the two phantom end wing sections mean that the collision model does still extend even when folded? I'm not familiar enough with the models to understand what the pic is showing. Thanks.
Flappie Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 Yes, exactly. If you load each model in the Model Viewer, you will notice the difference. If you want to take a look: Run the Model Viewer (from the bin-mt folder). Load .\DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\FA-18C\Shapes\f-18c.lods In the Args window, set value arg 8 to "1.0" (wings will retract). Now, click the red square button (show DM model). Do the same thing with the Lot 20 model (.\DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\FA-18C\Shapes\fa-18c.lods) 1 ---
Nealius Posted April 2, 2024 Author Posted April 2, 2024 Thanks @Flappie! I'll check the SH-60s in the model viewer too. I think they have the same issue but never knew we could check the DM models.
