Gunfreak Posted May 6, 2024 Posted May 6, 2024 Don't really know were this belongs. I have an odd communication problem. I can not hear other fighter flights. I used think it was related to Vaicom. Or user fault, as I'm not very good at radios. But in several missions if i make two flights of different aircraft I can not hear their commutation. In one mission I flew F1 with AI F5s I had set up the AI to report contact, engagement etc. Never heard anything. I tried having the second flight on its own frequency. And and have it on a preset. I tired to manually diel the frequency. And I tried to start the mission with with the AI on my own default frequency. No reporting. In another mission I flew F5, with F14 allied flight. Again no communication from AI tried the 3 same variations. And now today I flew F16 with allied F14. This time I even set the AI F14 to report waypoints. Yet no reporting from then. Tried having them on their own frequency, tried to have it on a preset, tried to manually input the frequency, and I tried to have start with the same frequency as me. Never got any reporting form them. My own flight yell out contacts, engagements and kills. I know allied flights can report to you. As I've done several ww2 missions with like 20 flight all reporting waypoints and contacts, filling my screen with white text. Only thing I can think of is I now use Vaicom. i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 5090 OC, 128Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.

I have moved the thread to general bugs section thank you Here's the track for the last one, I can not hear the F14s even though we both are on 305. It does not appear to be voice attack or vaicom. just did the mission again just sitting in the cockpit with out voice attack, running at fast forward an the F14s never rapport any of the stuff I asked them to rapport. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted May 7, 2024 ED Team Posted May 7, 2024 thanks for the track. When I load the mission and fly it it all seems to work for me. Can you try a repair and remove any unofficial mods if any. Maybe attach the dcs log from the session also so we can look for clues. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Done repair, deleted mods etc, still can't hear any flight on the same frequency except my own flight. I had 8 F16s and 3 F18s on the same frequency, all AI told to report engaging and kills, but only my own flight reported, even though several of the F18s also fired. i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 5090 OC, 128Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.
Gunfreak Posted September 12, 2024 Author Posted September 12, 2024 I still have this problem, I've now deleted all traces of Vaicom, but I still can't hear any other flights on my set frequency, only my own flight. i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 5090 OC, 128Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.

Windows can do funny stuff, especially with some VR headsets it seems. Also did you change anything in VoiceAttack/VAICOM? Even if you did remove it. I have a hard time believing it was VAICOM anyway, as no other users have reported problems in the Forum or in the Discord. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk That wasn't it, I changed the audio from default to specifically Pimax in game and no change, I set a flight of Viggens to report waypoint, but heard nothing as they passed it, and it would be odd that I can hear ATC, AWACS and my own flight, but not allied lights and that should have something to do with it. i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 5090 OC, 128Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted September 12, 2024 ED Team Posted September 12, 2024 just to check, you do have it ticked in DCS gameplay options Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Try it in 2D with ordinary headphones or speakers? If I get around to it. I'll try your track, and if that works, it's not DCS. It's somehow your settings/sound settings. Have you tried to rename the Saved Games folder? Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk just to check, you do have it ticked in DCS gameplay options That "other flight report status" or something?
