I'd like to thank ED for spending all that time and money on implementing something that takes away 60% of my cockpit... This is way better than a LANTIRN POD or a DTC for the Viper. Neat looking pilot model though I guess.

A large porion of the DCS player base (me included) have been waiting for this feature for a very long time. You're sarcastically complaining that you'd rather seen other features. Many of us could have done the same for many of the stuff already implemented years ago, but we didn't.

You can always decide to turn the pilot body off and go back to an unrealistic "empty cockpit" experience if you prefer that.

Fwiw: I've spend over a decade working on F-16's for the RNLAF and I can assure you, if you sit in the cockpit (especially with the canopy closed), the thing is tight. I'm not a very big guy, but during system tests/inspections even I had to twist and shift my body extensively to be able to see/reach some of the side panel switches. Some switches have a special shape, so that haptic feedback allows you to blindly operate them, you could bind those to your HOTAS to not have to hide the pilot body. But let's agree, the "obscured" side panels are hardly used during flight. I rather switch off the pilot body a few seconds during startup, then fly my entire sortie as if I'm steering a drone aircraft.

That's fine mate, but I'd rather have a realistic Data Cartridge System than having a pilot model that I can unrealistically turn on and off because it realistically takes away my ability to see most of my panels and forces me to unrealistically bind things to my HOTAS or keyboard because i can't realistically use my hands physically because of what I realistically can't see because of my virtual pilot body.

And as a fellow paying customer I'll be as sarcastic as I want because without me and my sarcastic consumer self, DCS wouldn't exist.

As a VR user I love the new pilot model and it adds so much immersion - so thanks ED for putting it in

would still like an option to remove the arms but not the legs / torso please

Yes, you already mentioned in your OP that you prefer other features. Your (unnecessary) sarcasm is quite clear in every post you make here.

Of course you can say whatever you want here (within certain forum rules that is). I apologize if my reaction gave you a different impression. I must admit I got very annoyed by your OP (and in fact, the sarcasm in all your posts). I guess I should have counted to 10 before posting. For me (also a paying customer) a DCS module without a pilot body is just not enjoyable at all and I had to wait years for the Viper to get this feature (even though it was suggested before EA release that it would come soon). Now, years later, I can finally start enjoying the Viper and then I read your OP... So, maybe now you can imagine a bit why I reacted the way I did.

The OP is certainly living up to his name 😂
He discussed that he wishes we’d got the DTC instead of a pilot model, one does not preclude the other, we will have both in time, the DTC is being developed and will come to all modules, no need for such sarcasm.

And you and the rest of the people who wanted a pilot model now have it, so congratulations, you got what you wanted at the expense of things that should have been way higher on the list. Because increasing the chance to survive a PVP dogfight or a SAM engagement by changing my CMS program is far less important than having a pilot model that most competent modders could've just cooked up in a week.

I curse you and your pilot model, also stop stalking my other posts 😐

So far for the polite and civilized discussion option.. Your sarcasm is sickeningly toxic and gives this forum a bad reputation... Do you know Reddit? That platform will suit your way of communicating better I think.

You're saying this like it's mathematics.. It isn't. What you find more important than anything else, is your opinion, not everyone's (I know it'll be difficult, but give it a go and try to understand that)

Yes, I'm going to ignore you're childish sarcasm from now on and fully agree with this statement

Again, check our Reddit, it's perfect for you. Also, this is a forum (with mainly decent people). If you don't want people to respond to your posts, then stop with the provocative and sarcastic posts, or just stop posting entirely...

Sirrah out.

(@ forum moderators; If you want to remove/delete this post of mine, please also remove all my other posts in this thread (or even better, just remove the entire thread)

What makes you think that the 3D artist responsible for making the pilot model would have been working on the code related to the DTC or Lantirn if the pilot body wasn't a priority? It's like expecting a plumber to fix the electrical wiring in your house.

Well they could've been working on a UI or the 3D model for the LANTIRN, or maybe they could've just not paid a 3D artist to work on the pilot model and invest it in people to code the DTC. What makes you think they couldn't have done that?

What makes you think they’re not doing both? It’s possible for a studio to do more than one thing at a time.

What makes you think that I think that them doing both isn't a waste of time and money. That makes me think you're not thinking like I am.

Folks its obvious we are not going to be able to please everyone. I can tell you more people have been thanking us for the pilot model than have been complaining about it however.

Its very easy to back seat manage projects but without being part of the team you don't know what is going on so can not make informed choices, that is for the project managers to do, they are the best people to know what our teams can focus on.

And while I appreciate the things that DCS has produced and acknowledge the fact that not everyone can be pleased at once, I'll still absolutely voice my disapproval or approval of your business decisions because that's what I pay you people money for.

Appreciate you Big N.

That’s what I pay you people money for? Mate that’s a level of arrogance right there, nobody is particularly interested in your opinion.

Can work out if you’re a troll or not. I’m thinking troll
