facetious1 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 (edited) As the sticky thread is closed :( And I am probably too late as it is closed :( But the manual is lacking a bit of quick reference: A: A nice keyboard map-- Please refer to FreeFalcon 5 documentation found here: http://www.freefalcon.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14530... (unfortunatly you would have to download the whole game to see the manual--- but given the depth of this flight sim.. I am sure you are already playing this :) ) the Keyboard map is awesome to easily see keys to press for certain functions. B: I have been searching for over 35 mins now for the "PIV mode selector" to put it to normal in the startup checklist... (located in the manual on page 5-3)..... come now... where the heck is the PVI switch??? Just some feedback from a stupid idiot customer that bought your awesome flight sim :) Edited April 26, 2009 by facetious1 Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 17134) (17134.rs4_release.180410-1804) MB: ASUS Prime X299-Deluxe Processor: Intel® Core i9-7920X CPU @ 2.90GHz (24 CPUs), ~2.9GHz Memory: 65536MB RAM MSI Seahawk RTX 2080 TI ASUS ROG Swift PG278 G-SYNC at 165HZ Saitek Pro X-55
joey45 Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 you can D/L the manual from the site.... pvi switch is by the pvi..... and i don't think this thread belongs here..... 1 The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. facetious1 Posted April 27, 2009 Author Posted April 27, 2009 (edited) you can D/L the manual from the site.... pvi switch is by the pvi..... and i don't think this thread belongs here..... Well Joey.. you are no help.. I know the new manual is DL from the site.. as I am posting this... PLEASE READ THE FIRST THREAD FULLY BEFORE YOU ACT ON YOUR ARROGANCE. Per the manual on page 5-3 after you set the "K-041" switch to the on position... You are suppossed to Set the PVI mode selector to "PA6" (normal Operation) But if you watch the tutorials... you do not set the PVI switch to normal until after the 2nd engine pools.. thus a disconnect on "Manual" vs Training Video... Now.. .Joey.. since you are such an omnipotent simmer.. and call it the "PVI switch is by the PVI"... Please explain to me where the "PVI" area is...As me, my wife.. and my 16 year old daughter all looked at the manual... watched the tutorial briefing... and still cannot ascertain the "PVI" area of reference... Based on your animae avatar.. you probably are as lost as me.... Either way.. Your pretentious being lends you to be the self rightous matter of the subject (hence why many people lose interest to flight sims) as no one here can be helpful... I am sorry that I missed the small type on page 2-58 of the official manual that did point that out to me... But then again Joey.. if you were a cool person.. you could of told me that it was under the navigation control panel.. Sorry for the hostility.. but... pretentious people really do bother me... I have really wasted alot of time attempting to start this chopper... when some cordial person could have given me a reasonable, humanistic response... Either way... the manual is in disconnect with the actual start up procedures... thus this thread belongs where the devs/producers can monitor. Acedy Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 (edited) facetious1, maybe Joey's post was helpful, maybe not, in any case, I don't think your way to acknowledge it is in order here. Please read the forum rules carefully, and next time think twice before you post in a similar manner, will you? Regarding your question: a) The cockpit reference chapter of the manual has a whole section about the PVI, see page 2-58 b) there is a key command reference chart included in the game, where one headline reads "NAV panel controls PVI" and the first entry is "PVI change master mode" BTW, a good way to find information in the manuals is to use the search function of your PDF reader. The reason why the manual and tutorials may be somewhat inconsistent regarding the startup procedure is simply that in some cases it does not matter when you switch on a certain device or configure it. EtherealN Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Based on your animae avatar.. you probably are as lost as me.... I'm not specifically a fan of Anime above other movie arts, but I feel I should inform you that there are a lot of animes that are extremely intelligent. Those pictures there seem to be Ghost in the Shell, which is a cult classic and actually works on very intelligent themes. Thing is, we western people think "cartoon" means stupid kids stuff. But in Japan it's just another way to make a movie, and a lot of them will totally crush our western "serious" acting movies when it comes to being serious and working on important cultural themes. (My personal favourite is the series "Monster", a very very grownup psychodrama that is about as kids-oriented as American Psycho. :P ) Anyway: There's no "PVI area of reference". The PVI-800 is your inertial navigation system. It's basically the same thing as saying "Joystick area of reference" and it really is easy to find. It's no "small print" thing - I typed "PVI" into the search field in Acrobat Reader and WHAM it sent me to 2-58 where it has a very illustrative picture of it. Finally: thus this thread belongs where the devs/producers can monitor. It belongs here. Your first spot was the announcements forum, and well... That's not "the place where devs hang out", it's "the place where devs announce things". The devs are regulars on this forum, and if the moderation here operates anything like game forum moderation teams I've been working with the mods will indicate to the devs when there are threads they really should look at. The devs and producers are present in pretty much every second thread here! 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
