Thamiel Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 The sheer number of built-in kneeboard pages (45?!) coming with the module can be a challenge to deal with if you rely heavily on your own, custom made pages as VR pilots normally do. To clean up / declutter the appropriate DCS Systems kneeboard subfolder is only a temporary solution because its contents get restored after every repair/update. 3 Modules: A-10CII | F-5E | AV-8B | M-2000C | SA342| Ka-50-III | Fw 190D-9 | Mi-24P | SU-33 | F-4E | F-14B | C-101CC | F-86F | AH-64D | F-16C | UH-1H | A-4E-C | AJS-37 | P-47D | P-51D | Bf 109K-4 | CA | SC Maps: Cold War Germany | Nevada | Syria | Persian Gulf | South Atlantic | Kola | Sinai | Normandy | Channel Setup: Ryzen9 5950X | 64GB DDR4 | RTX 4090 | 2TB M.2 NVMe | TM Warthog & TFRP Rudder | Reverb G2 | OpenXR/TK | Win10 Affiliation: [TM]Tigermercs
WinOrLose Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 I had the same issue - try kneeboard builder. Kneeboard Builder for DCS World (dcskneeboardbuilder.com) 1

Kneeboard Builder for DCS World (dcskneeboardbuilder.com) Can that remove the default pages? Thamiel. I have already asked if it was possible to have the KBs as a tickbox "option", but they didn't seem to like that idea. 1 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat
Thamiel Posted May 28, 2024 Author Posted May 28, 2024 A pity but I can understand their reluctance to use that approach. They went great lengths to make additional information available to the pilot during flight (e.g. the manual, KB stack). But to flood the KB with lots of pages about very specific information you dont need except in certain/rare circumstances is quite invasive. If I'm going to need information about how to intercept a bandit efficiently I will research and will come up with my own kneeboard page - if I need one at all. I dont have the time to read (or click through for that matter) 3 pages of possible intercept procedures - while sitting in a cockpit with things changing every second Im reading. Its not feasible. The authority to setup that source of information should stay with the pilot. 2 Modules: A-10CII | F-5E | AV-8B | M-2000C | SA342| Ka-50-III | Fw 190D-9 | Mi-24P | SU-33 | F-4E | F-14B | C-101CC | F-86F | AH-64D | F-16C | UH-1H | A-4E-C | AJS-37 | P-47D | P-51D | Bf 109K-4 | CA | SC Maps: Cold War Germany | Nevada | Syria | Persian Gulf | South Atlantic | Kola | Sinai | Normandy | Channel Setup: Ryzen9 5950X | 64GB DDR4 | RTX 4090 | 2TB M.2 NVMe | TM Warthog & TFRP Rudder | Reverb G2 | OpenXR/TK | Win10 Affiliation: [TM]Tigermercs
Rudel_chw Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 I wish ED could implement a set of default pins for the KB, one for each page source: The aircraft’s, the Terrain’s, the Map, the User’s KB at saved games, that would make much easier to go straight to the KB section you need. 2 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
Zabuzard Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 A trick I used in some modules is to make my own pages appear at the end instead (prefixing the file names with zzz or similar). Then one can navigate backwards instead of forward and access the page instantly from the starting page :) 2

Yes it can 1 hour ago, Zabuzard said: A trick I used in some modules is to make my own pages appear at the end instead (prefixing the file names with zzz or similar). I always need to scroll through the wall of pages which are not neccecary (for me) just to jump between the pages i need (esp waypoints) and the pages i inserted on my own like ATO document and mission details. 1 Main-Module: F-16C, AH-64D Maps: Syria, Persian Gulf, South Atlantic, Caucasus, 1944 Normandy, NTTR Hardware: VKB Gunfighter mk.2 Pro, WinWing Orion F16, VKB T-Rudder, HP Reverb G2 PC Specs: Intel 13900K, ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-E, 64GB DDR5-5800 RAM, GeForce RTX 4090, Win 11x64
