They can operate independent from command post and radar. So why not give the ability to drive it

It's a multi-vehicle system so which one would you like to drive and what for? Keep in mind combat readiness time after movement and prepare for movement time.

ED has not implemented that capability yet into DCS World (in fact, no plans yet).

For any land vehicle to be user drivable

there needs to be a connector called, "DRIVER_POINT"

in the main lua, and added to the 3d model, ie: edm

If you can find the lua, these changes can be tried without the connector in the edm

Never tried this before, and I think the lua's are locked away

If you do a search for SuntSag's pilot mod, there may be clues on how to accomplish this,

Using his code.

"Yeah, and though I work in the valley of Death, I will fear no Evil. For where there is one, there is always three. I preparest my aircraft to receive the Iron that will be delivered in the presence of my enemies. Thy ALCM and JDAM they comfort me. Power was given unto the aircrew to make peace upon the world by way of the sword. And when the call went out, Behold the "Sword of Stealth". And his name was Death. And Hell followed him. For the day of wrath has come and no mercy shall be given."

Both KUB and BUK can move rapidly. From the early on they were designed to move along the troops and deploy at shortest time. Some more time would be need for cables if you use them (at least for KUB it's recommened).

@ustio an alternative is to have Combined Arms, in which case you should be able to command the vehicles to move.

the BUK has its own Tracking radar hence why it's called a TELAR. recent conflict show the TELAR operating independently. in multiplayer and with how the Fog of War system work in DCS, placing BUK for ambush and do shoot and scoot without relying on the Search radar vehicle would open up a new gameplay.

yep. been doing that in MP server the thing is, you can't have it's radar deploy while turning it off like when you drive it

You jump to conclusions, while the TELAR can be standalone it can be easily 10km away from search radar and still receive updates. This way BUK can cover larger volume.
