As title report after the patch the first thing I noted is that OpenXR Toolkit prompt come up as it was reinstalled/resetted and then in the hangar screen where I look the foveted visual shake continuosly, if I look around where the sweet spot move the visual continue to shake.
Any one same problem? Any tips in how to solve? Thx.

Same here. Pretty much game breaking for me. Hopefully a fix soon.

I disabled DFR in Pimax Open XR and nothing changed.  In game DFR settings don't even show up in the menu now.  I got DCS to run once in Steam VR but I don't have the Steam version of DCS, so I can't start DCS normally in Steam VR.  I don't know how I got DCS to work in Steam VR the first time.  At least I was able to spend an hour on DCS Dogfighters server.

The problem is that MBucchia didn't develop/support it anymore... A big problem...

ED literally has a blatant BUG in their code.

THAT is the problem, existing since Day 1 of DCS OpenXR support. Reported to them on many occasions in the last year and a half.

I got my copy of the latest DCS version working well in VR by switching from Open XR to Steam VR.  Eye tracking DFR functionality isn't supported but at least the new update is playing nice with Steam VR.

Exactly the same issue for me on Pimax Crystal......  Have not found a fix for it yet.

Does anyone know of an easy way to rollback to the previous version?

I'm very curious to know if he closed his account himself, or if ED banned him. It would be very telling...

No that's something I put in my signature a while ago. I don't read DMs, but I come sometimes here and there and check out threads. FYI I no longer work in the VR industry and barely do any work any more on open source projects.

ED had never censored me or treated me poorly for my posts. I speak my mind, sure. They probably would have cause sometimes to moderate my posts but they don't.

I wish there had been a bit better listening from them. It's a bit late now since as I me mentioned I no longer have time for this stuff.

@mbucchia

Good to know. Thank you very kindly for responding. I really really hope that they deeply consider the information you are providing them. Thank you very much for all you have done for us VR players.

Dropping back to single-threaded seems to cure it but performance is so bad it's hardly a workaround. This is what it looks like for me. Not sure if it's what others are seeing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PdPVt3BvxA

Sorry the video is so bad. It's hard to record through an eyeport with a phone and get eye-tracking to engage. But you can see it's stable until eye tracking activates and then it freaks out. No other configuration changes.

Just to be clear, probably You misunderstanding the meaning of my words (helped by the fact that my English is bad and sometimes I write English thinking as I speak in Italian so sorry for this...).
The meaning of my post was that, having the only one people who make high end headset working with acceptable performance under DCS creating a series of toolkit that nor ED or headset manufacturer show to be able (or want) to do, leaving the development and support of these tools is a big problem for us, the players, who spent and invest thousands of dollars in software and hardware. Not absolutely a Your problem nor that this problem was caused to us by Your quitting. I hope these time I make clearer my statement.

I have the Quest Pro.
If I launch Multi thread DCS.exe I get the shake.
If I launch single thread through the DCS_Updater.exe I get the shake.
If I launch using single thread DCS.exe it works fine. I have to launch from the folder Bin folder, not a shortcut.

You are still worried about the wrong things. As someone who is investing in non-Meta headsets, you need to be extremely worried at the game developers' attitude associating PCVR to one thing only: Quest Link.

Developing only for Quest Link, using Meta's broken/proprietary tools, and testing only on Quest Link. There are several games in 2024 that released with only Quest Link as supported devices. The developer did not bother testing on anything else. That is the problem that should keep you up at night.

The quad views API layer is very simple and isn't going to break because I don't maintain it. You can still install Windows 98 on your PC and play Half Life 1 today. It's solid code that isn't just magically going to break.

Just as proven this week, it's the content and the lack of validation by the game developer that breaks things.

If tomorrow a developer file to me a bug report in PimaxXR with the degree of detail that I put in my bug report to ED, I have no issue actually fixing what is broken. But the reality is a game developer in 2024 wouldn't even bother looking into the issue if it isn't affecting Quest Link users... I have conversations with at least 3 major game developers this year that proved my statement.

Focus on the right problems and evangelize these problems.

While NOT A FIX, I was able to get past the eye stuttering issues with eye tracking by going into Pimax software / device settings / device, and then simply disabled 'Eye Tracking' by unchecking it.  Loss of performance obviously but no longer game braking.

Btw, turning off DFR in the 'Games' tab of the Pimax software did not resolve the issue for me but the above method bypassed the issue so to speak.

Playable until there's a patch. However, an entirely separate issue of freezing frame for 10-20 seconds every 5 mins or so did crop up.

So I got DCS running in VR without DFR, but now I can only spend 10 to 15 minutes in game before the framerates start to drop into unplayable territory on the DCS Dogfighters server.  I'm running the Crystal with a 4070ti GPU.  I used to get frames in the 80s before the update but now I start out in the 50s and it just gets worse from there.  DCS isn't worth it to me without VR.
