captain_dalan Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 null nullBottom right says it's running MT, but ingame performance, especially when looking around is all over the place, as bad if not worse then it was in ST before update. Is the new launcher launching ST or MT? And is there a way to launch DCS by bypassing the launcher? null Modules: FC3, Mirage 2000C, Harrier AV-8B NA, F-5, AJS-37 Viggen, F-14B, F-14A, Combined Arms, F/A-18C, F-16C, MiG-19P, F-86, MiG-15, FW-190A, Spitfire Mk IX, UH-1 Huey, Su-25, P-51PD, Caucasus map, Nevada map, Persian Gulf map, Marianas map, Syria Map, Super Carrier, Sinai map, Mosquito, P-51, AH-64 Apache
Fabri91 Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 (edited) I can confirm that especially in the external view while panning around performance seems to be very inconsistent and stuttery. EDIT: also, i don't know what they did with the performance, but even my launcher video is stuttering This gave me an idea, i disabled the launcher and started DCS.exe from the MT-bin folder directly as i did before the update, et voila! Performance issues seem gone. Whatever the issues are, they may be launcher related! StiC Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 On the Settings page there is a switch on the right. 1
rwbishUP Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 @diego999 when you have the launcher onscreen, go to "options", on the right hand side of the window is the slider switch to "disable launcher". Just turn it off, then go to your root install folder. Scroll to "bin-mt" folder, open it and launch DCS using the DCS.exe inside. 2
captain_dalan Posted July 12, 2024 Author Posted July 12, 2024 You can also disable it manually, by editing the options.lua in your savedgames/dcs/config folder, and setting the value for launcher to false, but i wouldn't recommend it if you feel uncomfortable with editing lua files. 1 Modules: FC3, Mirage 2000C, Harrier AV-8B NA, F-5, AJS-37 Viggen, F-14B, F-14A, Combined Arms, F/A-18C, F-16C, MiG-19P, F-86, MiG-15, FW-190A, Spitfire Mk IX, UH-1 Huey, Su-25, P-51PD, Caucasus map, Nevada map, Persian Gulf map, Marianas map, Syria Map, Super Carrier, Sinai map, Mosquito, P-51, AH-64 Apache
hreich Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 How to enable it once again after disableing it? By editinig lua? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Pilot from Croatia
Spetz Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 You can disable/enable from one of the settings pages within DCS itself. 1 1
Raptorattacker Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) Go to the in-game settings>Misc and the option to enable/disable the new Launcher is there on the right-hand side set of buttons. Edited July 12, 2024 by Raptorattacker

Mateo Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 I have got stuttering effect ingame when using launcher and after turning it off the problem is gone as you said above. Thanks 1
dugite57 Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 Same here. I only use VR quest 3. After patching I started game and as soon as I was in the cockpit I got OpenXR prompting me and I notioced my setings had reverted to default. Fixed that up and noticed game was stuttering. Saw thread on redit and disabled the lauicher. Started game fropm, desktop shortcut to MT exe and no stutters. I'm amazed they never picked this up in testing.
