Would any modders out there be interested in creating the sort of set up that Ukrainian MiG-29s have with a mobile phone/ small tablet attached to the HUD and/ or a simple hand held GPS? Like here:

If we could get something similar with a moving map/ route that would be fantastic. Something similar could be implemented for the Su-25 too.

I'm actually somewhat surprised that nobody has attempted to do this yet?

Huge Thanks in advance!

First: GPS modules and phones are already installed on the Su-25 and MIG-29, but they are not for distribution as far as I understand. I saw them about a year ago.

Second, there is a very interesting modification of the Polish MIG-29, also in development.

Why would someone make a mod but not make it available to others? Seems very strange.

Polish MiG mod looks very cool. Would be great to see that available at some point.

Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for.

There is an android app where the map is displayed https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pwdev.dcsnav on the phone/tablet.

No, looking for an in-cockpit, modelled GPS device. Although that android app is very cool and maybe I'd have used it too if I had anything android, which I don't.

Developers may have their own reasons for not publishing mods. As an example, I would like to cite the Su-25UB and Mig-29UB.

For the ones who show it off publicly, but don't release it, it's a control thing. Douchey, but it happens a a lot.

My Polish mig mod will be public in a few days and then I'm planning to do slovak MiG-29AS.

Maybe after that I'll make an Ukrainian version with a tablet/gps attached

I like the idea of a Ukranian version very much please.  Maybe add some kind of interface w/ the HARMs and other NATO weapons... 🙂

Poland had 2 modernisation, planes from two airbases had them.

22BLT planes have an additional radio on right side of front panel, simple hud camera and a Trimble GPS receiver on the right side.

Outside, it has additional small antenna behind canopy and strobe lights (it was nato requirement to add strobes)

23BLT planes have more recent modernisation that changes hud camera for UFC control panel and the HDD is now a vertical 4x5 MFD that shows navigation and datalink aid. Also there's an additional radio on left console as well as custom WZL2 IFF panel with MFD on right console.

Outside it has IFF antennas on the nose that look like from F-16, strobes and a big antenna behind cannopy.

Slovak modernisation doesn't have the additional radio on front panel, it has different UFC (with a little screen like in some MiG-29 SMT's or MiG-29K) and an MFD that replaces HDD but it is horizontal. Outside it has similar IFF antennas on the nose.
