wcdiver Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 (edited) I've made a video of how loading the game in multiplayer looks for me. The same is for Retribution/Liberation (so a game with many units) My specs are core i9-11900kf 32 GB RAM RTX 4070 And I have nvme disk. During loading I see the ram going 100% usage (so entire 32 gb) which is probably the cause of this thing. My pagefile is set to 32 gb. I have a standalone install. I removed my DCS.openbeta folder from the saved games and let the game create new one. I use only 3 mods: A-4 community edition, OH-6A and nin's mig-21 sound mod. There is no difference mods or without mods. I have problems only with DCS, other AAA games run completely fine. I will also attach the dcs.log file here dcs.log /edit I've turned my preload radius from 50 000 to 10 000 and it seems to have helped a lot bit. I guess that 64 GB of RAM is now mandatory for multiplayer with bigger preload radius. Still I'm a little disappointed. Edited September 2, 2024 by wcdiver 1

You can see a lot of people getting tired of this and walking away from DCS, at least that's what it seems like. This is not good for for the SIM. 1 Cheers Wood Windows 10, Intel i7-6700 CPU @3.40GHz, 32GB ram , GTX 4060Ti
sleighzy Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 I’ve looked at most of the log files attached to the comments in this post. Almost half of them have the OH6 gunner mod. This is known to have a performance issue. Try removing that and seeing if it has any impact. If unsure search in your logs for the text “gunner_export_hook.lua”. Even in the DCS Menu the frame rate freezes brutally. When I display the Multiplayer Server selection the fps goes down to 1-10 fps. The hourglass keeps coming up. And fps goes almost to zero. My new PC is now worse than my old PC with i7 7700k. So much Money wasted. Your 12th Gen is power hungry. Make sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date and you should have a look at your CPU voltage settings (Vcore Voltage) as well as your memory voltages and timings. I’m running a very hot and power hungry 14900k and I was having the same issues until I tweaked my voltage and memory settings. It took some time to learn the tech lingo but DCS is butter smooth now. No issues whatsoever. DM me if you want to set up a time to look at your bios and see what can be changed but I’d encourage you to do some searches in the overclock.net Forums and see if you can find something specific to your motherboard. Robi Hobby Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 I have over 30 other Games and they work very well! No matter whether VR or Flat. It's DCS World which is currently very bad. I don't want to tweak 1000 things until it gets better in DCS. Yesterday again, about 20 seconds. Zero fps in the Main Menu? DCS is rubbish at the moment. I'm waiting for Updates. 1

If it was a hardware problem they'd all be acting up. 2
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted September 19, 2024 ED Team Posted September 19, 2024 It is a good idea to ensure you have removed all unofficial mods, also if you are using scripts in the saved games scripts folder, remove them for any test. If you send us logs and your dxdiag we are happy to try and help you. thank you 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Thanks not seeing anything obvious, I would Consider using DLAA to see if you notice a difference in performance, also disable civil traffic. But otherwise your system seem pretty sound. Robi Hobby Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 My Quest 3 is set to 72Hz and FPS i try to run with 60 fps 36fps is not so nice. But if i am on the Main Menu the Screen stuck and FPS can go down to ZERO. My Mous is set to 250Hz and the Trackball is fix on 125Hz.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted September 19, 2024 ED Team Posted September 19, 2024 thanks, dont worry so much during loading screens, fps will be up and down while loading. In the cockpit is where the FPS is important below 45 is not a good experience in my opinion, the AH-64D is pretty heavy on frames, the team are looking at optimising it in a future update. thank you 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? FPS go now to 70 CH-47 to 55 FPS Robi I was having awful performance when I had my max FPS set to 50 in the setting on heavy ac like the phantom/ F14 and Apache where my FPS was a slide show at 5fps. Every other DCS ac would be consistent at 50fps. I decided to select higher FPS to 90 and no get no less then 70_65 fps 80% of the time. At times it will drop with heavy loads to 36. I also had a ton of micro pauses which made 36 fps seem like dung. I read somewhere that selecting the Track IR viewing off in the settings would substantially reduce the stuffers. Incan confirm that is true. Once I did that the pause are negligible. Here are my settings hope this helps Edited September 19, 2024 by Wood Cheers Wood Windows 10, Intel i7-6700 CPU @3.40GHz, 32GB ram , GTX 4060Ti

If unsure search in your logs for the text “gunner_export_hook.lua”. The stutter from the OH-6 mod only occurs due to the old door gunner script (the new version no longer has this issue). You can actually delete the script completely if you don't intend to use the door gunner in multiplayer. I am experiencing this issue both without the OH-6 mod (updated) installed, and with it installed and the door gunner script removed. The performance issue is unrelated to the mod (though it might be even worse if you're using the outdated version).
