CASE II minimum conditions are defined as 1,000ft ceiling and 5nm visibility. Overcast and Rain 3 preset is marked 3-5km visibility in the METAR, which when converted is 1.6~2.7nm visbility. This precludes CASE II and should be CASE III.

With preset Overcast and Rain 3, clouds set 5,577ft, the carrier comms call for CASE II when they should be CASE III. While there are occasional pockets of CASE II weather, by the time an aircraft commences and arrives within 10nm, the carrier is in the soup. Unfortunately CATCC/Airboss does not switch to CASE III when mother enters low vis/rain, forcing the player to do CASE III with no LA lights, no comms after Platform, and an NC LSO grade.

About a mile out, certainly not CASE II with the poor visibility caused by rain and the soup beyond (which we entered right as I trapped):0KRLHG0.png

The LA lights weren't even on, so lineup was insane even with ICLS. Good luck doing a visual pattern in CASE II like that.

Otherwise I really enjoyed the new rain effects.

22JUL hotfix, still doing CASE II when visibility is CASE III.

Surely I can't be the only one who does carrier ops in weather other than CAVOK high noon....

This is basic module functionality that is game-breaking in daylight, poor weather ops.

10 miles (the point where you should be visual on a CASE II)

And we're still getting a CASE II in CASE III weather.

I just found this thread after experiencing the same thing flying online last night.  Unsure what the actual weather settings were, but the METAR in the briefing said scattered clouds at 900', and those clouds were full of rain, so definitely CASE III conditions.  If the carrier happened to be in one of those clouds, you just couldn't see it at all, but on the Inbound call it would still report visibility 10SM, CASE I expected.  At one point I flew right past it at 800' trying to attempt a recovery despite the conditions, and still couldn't see it.  Ended up having to just loiter until it got to a patch of clear sky large enough to fly an approach in.

Had the same issue with this too. Also, after the last patch I can't get full auto land to work.

Before the last patch I could use CPL TACAN  right to 5M and when I get ILS lock on I uncouple TACAN and get CPL P/R. That's not happening anymore.😪

Any ideas?

Looks like you can only get CASE III at dawn, dusk and at night.

No, clouds or fog will suffice in day time.

I don't think so.... post your .miz

Note: it might say CASE II and CASE III but you only get CASE II on hand off.

A simple solution if this isn't a new bug would be to have a CASE level force option in the ME.

She said Case 3 and also there are comms on departure. Check for yourself.

@draconus You didn't understand my statement.

I was agreeing with Nealius. Your weather settings should trigger a CASE III, but it does not. Currently in game the only way to get a CASE III recovery is at Dawn, Dusk or at Night. (which is incorrect)

This is the problem with world today - We are looking for an argument where we should be looking for common ground.

Let me understand then how it does not when all the comms I get are for Case III. I'd happily confirm the bug.
