reported ST - mirrors in the cockpits are "muddy"

Using Quest 2, mirrors are transparent in some planes or metal solid in others with some cloudy shape floating instead of the proper image.

They work fine in FLAT (not VR). Detected in MT version with KA50, SU25T and Sabre (didn't tested others)

can you ensure all unofficial mods are removed if any, run a repair of dcs or verify if steam. 

Retest and if you still have problems attach your dcs log from the session. 

If you are using reshade please remove it for the test.

At first I thought it was only an F4E problem, but no. It's not about VR, I don't have it.

Try DCS MT and the mirrors should work.

Recent CPUs are very powerful, but their power is distributed among cores and threads. A lot of applications, among them games, are not multi-threaded, which means most of your CPU power is left unused by these apps/games.

ED introducted a mutli-threaded (MT) version of DCS in 2023, which puts recent CPUs to good use for better performance. The old, ST, version is still available.

To determine which version you're using, go to Saved Games/DCS.../Logs and open your dcs.log file (it may simply appear as "dcs" in Windows). Look for "DCS.exe".

Here's MT (bin-mt):

And here's ST (bin):

@TopoSolitario Your issue is different. Are you running the Steam version or the standalone version?

Either way, try and repair the game files (standalone procedure, Steam procedure).

I'm pretty sure I'm not using ST, confirmed checking the LOG after launching the game.
In MT VR they are absolutely NOT working for me after the update. Same for the Quest 2 controllers, but that's another issue.

Grey, pale blue, and even transparent... Each plane has a different mirror "bug" but it happens in all planes tested. I have currently no mods and have repaired the /validated files via steam (nothing reported).

since the last update, the rearview mirrors on my planes (F-4E, M2000...) remain black or very blurry.
I activated the mirrors in the options, and in the cockpit even clicking on the mirrors it no longer works
I am on STEAM in stable version.
Someone has the same problem ?

I wondered why the camera-mirror was off in the Mig21, I thought I was going to have to hunt down an on/off switch for it (though it was always on before the update).

This was the update they delayed to ensure stuff like this didn't happen, right?

The shortcut you use to start DCS.exe should be the one in the bin-mt folder, edit your shortcut

I have the same problem. I am running the MT version. Start via the new launcher. The mirrors look as if they are heavily steamed up, as if completely fogged up. So completely unusable. I fly the F 14 from Heatblur.

1. (ST only) Mirrors render things black. I'm able to reproduce this bug and it's now reported.
2. Mirrors are hollow/empty or they render things grey.

I suspect issue 2 only happens with the Steam version. @TopoSolitario @Romandv Do you run DCS Steam version or the standalone?

Is the Su-25T affected too?

At first I thought it only works on ED modules(im check F18), but Mirage F1 is fine.
