A quick slang question

What's the english slang name for unguided rockets (like S-8 )?

 

Example context: a pilot is complaining to a fellow about lack of ammo, saying "and i've got only 5 ... left".

 

Help will be appreciated.

I've seen "rox" in online simming before. Short for rockets :) Not sure if it is what you want, though.

you could say "FFARs" for folding fin aerial rockets

if you were westerner you might say "hydras"

I'd probably just say "rockets" unless I give the weapon type. Few people will misunderstand that. So either "I have 8 rockets left" or "I have 8 esseights left".

I don't think there is a general slang term for rockets, I've never heard one anyway.

British apache pilots refer to their rockets as flechettes. Since they mainly use flechette rockets in A-Stan.

I know this is wrong, but yeah, unguided = rockets and guided = missiles. Thats how we do it anyway.
