CSL_Ondras Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 Hello, after few inactive months I have tried to update DCS, however I keep getting the screen that I have enclosed as the screenshot. The update, due to this, completely fails. Does anyone know how to overcome this without needing clean DCS re installation? I do not use any modifications. Thanks in advance, O.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted August 29, 2024 ED Team Posted August 29, 2024 Hi, please check your antivirus isnt creating any issues for DCS, then try a pc reboot and try again. If that fails go to your DCS root and delete the _downloads folder and redownload the update. Let us know if it helps thank you Forum rules - DCS Crashing? CSL_Ondras Posted August 31, 2024 Author Posted August 31, 2024 (edited) Hi BIGNEWY, thank you very much for your efort. I already had DCS exemted in antivirus, so I tried to delete the _downloads folder and redo the update with unfortunately same result. I also included log file this time, although I am not sure if it can help. Being a bit rusty with DCS, can you please remind me which files to save to preserve all my controls seettings in case I have to go for clean install? Thanks again. O. hello. to save the controls go into Saved Games, find the DCS subfolder. within that folder, there is a folder called CONFIG. make a copy of it somewhere you can find later. also you can just rename the entire SAVED GAMES\DCS folder to .BAK. there may be something in that folder causing your issues. null AKA_SilverDevil Join AKA Wardogs Email Address My YouTube “The MIGS came up, the MIGS were aggressive, we tangled, they lost.” - Robin Olds - An American fighter pilot. CSL_Ondras Posted September 2, 2024 Author Posted September 2, 2024 Hello, thank you very much guys for your kind replies, I have tried slow repair before and again, with the same result - AGM-119B_fr.txt is a magical file on my PC, that can't be moved . My patience is almost depleted and I will probably resort to complete reinstall, when I have time. O.
