Hey,

I was about to practice IFR approaches in the C-101CC, but the ILS beacon Rio Grande (109.5) doesn't seem to work.
The VOR (117,3) works fine.

Of course there's the possibility I did something wrong setting it up in the cockpit, but I think I double checked everything.

Can anyone confirm?

TY

Did you also make sure the wind setting was in favour for that Runway and ILS?

Good point. I will double check.

Yeah, I had set a 6-14 knots headwind and some turbulence but changing that all to zero didn’t help. Still no ILS beacon.

Are you sure it’s set correctly, remember the wind setting in the ME is backwards from the direction conventions of EVERY Aviation authority on the planet.

Some people say nautical winds work this way, which makes sense for sailing I guess?

Well, I assume the arrow indicates the direction the wind is going......

Correct the number is “Backwards” to how aviation uses it, but the Arrow depiction is correct.

So for RW26 you want wind direction “TO 080.” Arrow pointing to the right on the circle. Or about because I forget if it’s true or magnetic in DCS. (I’m guessing in the mission editor it’s true since it seems to mostly conform to setting up the “ground” game)

And that’s why aviation doesn’t use wind that way.

I really think they are bugged.  I tried Mt Pleasant and Rio Grande in 2 different aircraft with wind correct -  no ILS signal in either.  I used to fly the Mt Pleasant ILS all the time, no problem.

Rio Grande works fine.

Thanks for the reply.  I have no idea what was wrong or I had set wrong in my system,  thought I tested it very carefully . . . working for me also again.  Apologies.
