user error Comms issue - really weird

So, all comms work when im on the ground, i can call my chief for ground power and the tower for start up permission using keyboard key / or my voicemacro program, however, once airborne I cannot get my comms to work at all but once i land all comms are working again. Any idea whats going on here?

Are you using the right comm menus for ICS (RShift+Space) or Radio (Ralt+\)?

Thanks LV, didnt see anything to tell me to use these keys but figured something was wrong on my side when I had same issue across multiple platforms. Will now go and stand in the corner for half n hour wearing the D hat.
