Per post, looking for someone to print this thing for me minus the two mounting holes to the chair. I can drill something out personally, but I need a bracket made for my seat. Willing to pay a few bucks so long as the price is good. Preferably USA, but doesnt matter if I can get the part in a few days max. If not print, then fabricate for me...again, minus the mounting holes. Id do it myself but I dont have access to a brake.

I'd be willing to help ya out. Depending on the size of the part. My fdm printer has a pretty good printable volume, so I'd say it would print it. I'll dl the file when I get home and look at the dimensions.

The size of the part might need to be adjusted an inch or two longer if its feasible. If the material is sturdy enough, Id be happy to buy a few of them from you. Let me know.

@Hammer1-1, well I grabbed it and looked at it and I think your best bet would be to go with aluminum. I honestly don't think a 3d printed version could stand up to the repeated stress from the collective. Unless maybe, it were printed in carbon fiber, I don't have the equipment to do CF, and I'd say a custom printed CF parts is OUTRAGEOUS. But, judging by the shape and simple contours of the part. I think it would be fairly easy to get a square of thin aluminum and fabricate it with some basic metal working tools.

I could do it easily if I had a metal brake, thats the one piece of tooling I dont have or have access to. I would also have to use O material and have it heat treated else it wouldnt last very long. If anything I can always reinforce the plastic with something behind it, but definitely would have to be some sort of unbreakable plastic for it to work. . What would be the best material for it to work aside from CF? I could try kevlar, I dont have a vacuum form though...

Yeah, @BunyipBilly. Stainless would be great, but even to have a small piece like that fabricated. Would cost a small fortune nowadays. I'm going to make some mods to the file, thicken it just a bit, add some cross hatch and webbing then analyze again.

If I could fit it in my resin machine, it would be great. I have a resin blend that you could make false teeth with, lol. Even if @Hammer1-1 finds a solution, I still want to make one that could be used in case someone else in the community gets in a bind and needs one.

It looks backwards. The collective is to be installed on the left side and I need to bring it aft 5". The 90 reinforcement isnt necessary since its the mating surface, but the rest of it looks good. This is how I have it currently mounted. I also need to know that it wont shatter if I drill the part. I know, getting a bit involved...

Why not make it from three pieces? Small plate, large plate and a piece of bar. Screw them together. Easy to fab with simple tools, much stronger than 3D printed.

There are two mating surfaces that would interfere. Pinning the two pieces together would create interference, so it has to be one piece. Id do just that, but I dont have a way to rivet the material together.

So use countersunk fasteners into threaded holes. Or make it from a flat plate and put a spacer between plate and chair.

There are so many ways to do this with simple tools.

yeah, countersinking it. gotta have a countersink for it. all my sheet metal stuff is in storage and I cant justify rearranging my entire storage shed just for one of mine...and at that point it would be easier to have someone else make it. I dont know if I have any cutters for them either...believe me, thought of that. Also, I have to have a joggle that goes over the seat mount on the frame and extend it aft a few inches. Its easier to shave plastic down. Id love nothing more to build this myself, I just dont have access to a brake.

So adjust the design for 3D printing (it'll need a bunch of extra material adding to be rigid enough) or for machining and send it away. Lots of places will do that for you.

I'd just make it from billet, personally.

If I knew someone who did CNC, Id have paid triple for it and Id send some business his way. I considered finding a shop out here that might be able to do it, but Ive no idea where to look. Its times like now I wish I still worked at Boeing..then I read the news and Im glad I dont again.

Ive checked around Lowes and Home Depot for a sheet metal brake that I could rent for a few hours and the only ones I could find are for aluminum siding. I can probably get away with it, but sheet metal aluminum siding isnt really up to snuff and not sure if it could handle .062 7075 T6.  I happen to have some titanium lying around in storage too...hate working that stuff.

It doesn't need CNC, this is an easy manual mill project.

PCBway do CNC and sheet metal work now. Just send them your CAD and a note to get a quote back.

No, its still on the chopping block. I might just build me something soon that I can add onto my flight seat pro when Im good and ready to retire in the next few months. Im barely getting only 300 bucks worth out of my sim seat and I find that irritating. I just rigged some timber onto my makeshift book case/left console.

Hello Hammer1-1

If you want I can give it a try. Though i would suggest adding a total of 8 reinforcements, see picture.
I have very limited experience printing functional parts and no idea of the forces the collective is going to exert.

nullPostage from The Netherlands seems to be possible as a letterbox package for around 15$
Printing materials I'm guesstimating at 10$

Instead of the printed reinforcements you could consider reinforcing it using a metal 90 degree profile that is commonly found in hardware stores.
