No display in the HMD when quad views is enabled in the runtime is almost always the sign of an incompatible API layer. If not OpenXR Toolkit, then it's another one, I think OXRMC, OBSMirror also will cause this. Double check using the API layer tool from Fred

I was incorrect. Removing post.

Hi Keith Briscoe, I am using the new PIMAX OpenXR and Quadviews, have been testing it for a short time and it works well for me.

@BIGNEWY  I see from your screen shot that you have both OpenXR Quadviews and Pimax boxes checked under Dynamic Foveated Rendering.  I'm not sure that is correct.  I was under the impression that the selections were the first choice is obviously for QuadViews, but I thought the second choice was to enable Pimax's Foveated Rendering 2.0  (Fixed Foveated Rendering in case of the Crystal Light and Dynamic Foveated Rendering in the case of the Original Crystal).  Therefore you should be picking one or the other.

I could be way off base, so if you have any info or insight that would be great.

EDIT:  Here is a pic of my PimaxPlay settings.  Notice that on your Original Crystal the Setting is named Dynamic Foveated Rendering and on my Crystal Light it is Fixed  Foveated Rendering.

To use OpenXR runtime in Pimax Play (and Quad Views), please do not open PimaxXR and/or OpenXR Toolkit. More clarification on this:

I don't think QVC can be used with Pimax Play's own DFR implementation. I tested it by checking the "Focus View" option in QVC and it has no effect, so I concluded that it does not work with that implementation. Are you seeing something different? Let me know, maybe I'm doing something wrong.

You appear to be correct QVC appears to be redundant so I have uninstalled it. So far the new Pimax Play appears to be an improvement as per my earlier post. Given the incoming DCS Patch (hopefully this week) with the anticipated performance improvements mentioned in the newsletter, I think should all be even happier.

As I stated, I noticed more stutter with Pimax Play, which seems weird. Looking at the FPS counter in DCS, I noticed I'm CPU Bound (I run it at 72Hz), but the text is coloured in red, whereas with the old stack is coloured in yellow. i wonder what that means exactly, but the frame times are much less stable too, hence the stutter. What are your hw specs, if I may ask?

My hardware is listed at the bottom of my post. I also use Task Manager via the Details Tab to change DCS Priority to High (Do not use Realtime!!). which helps my system. Apologies if you already know this tip. Currently I am happy with FPS and smoothness of play.

Just to add further testing results...

Pimax 8KX with DroolonPi eyetracker... removed the old stuf, OpenXR Toolkit, Quadviews and Companion... deleted all folders, removed the old ASeeVR runtime needed by the DroolonPi (will test some more to see if it really tracks)...

Deleted all Pimax named folders from ProgramFiles...

Reinstalled CLEAN the new PimaxPlay...

All works magically native now, even the DFR with DroolonPi (without starting the obviously no longer needed ASeeVR that I also uninstalled...)

Getting 90FPS on Normal FOV... (7800x3D & 7900XTX, 64GB)

Pimax FTW!!!  :thumbup::cheer3nc:

Same here, got home today deleted all the extra software packages OPENXR toolkit, Quadviews, Quadview companion and all the previous pimax play software. Installed the newest version of pimaxplay and voila everything works great from pimaxplay settings! FPS and performance are better for me then before.

@jaapgrolleman I have a request for making pimaxplay even better. Would it be possible for you guys to implement settings in the form of sliders to increase resolution to our own likings instead of three options?

@miguelaco You might wanna install Nvidia drivers 552.44 Those were the last drivers from Nvidia that were actually good, all other i got lots of stuttering et cetera.. (4090 here)

BTW I was _not_ referring to your post as misinformation, but rather other posts I read elsewhere!

Thank you, I know, but the information in my post was misleading when it came to the use of Quad-Views 1.1.3 and I don't want to muddy the waters.

Again, thank your so much for you work past and present.
