dresoccer4 Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 (edited) Does the CH-47F in DCS have any electronic control assistance to help with axis control? For example most of the modern helos do, but the UH-1H does not. I'm finding it very hard to control so was wondering if there were any electronic assistance with this upgraded package modeled in DCS. Solution Tholozor Posted October 6, 2024 Solution Posted October 6, 2024 (edited) Ensure you have the System Select Knob turned on on the AFCS panel between the CDUs. Eventually we'll also get additional stability and control features that you can read more about here: Edited October 6, 2024 by Tholozor REAPER 51 | Tholozor VFA-136 (c.2007): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305981/ Arleigh Burke Destroyer Pack (2020): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313752/

Do you have pedals? There's something odd when you trim. You have FFB, right?

MAXsenna Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 no pedals (joystick twist)., yes to ffbRight, I seemed to remember you have the MS FFB2, an axis in any case! Then you might "have a problem". For some reason they force "centre position" trimming on the pedals in the default trim mode. Turn on Controls Indicator, and you can see for yourself. It's really wonky for me, but I can handle it. MAXsenna Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Dont forget the Bob button for cruising! Sure. Don't really need it. It's easy enough to give him control, but sometimes strange things happen. And I haven't completely figured out the best way to retake the controls yet. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
Sprool Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Handover to and from Bob is a bit glitchy at the moment, if you do it at speed I get a big change in pitch 1

Yes this is normal, It's that pesky DASH thingy. Push and hold the cyclic forward to accelerate and as the chopper gains speed the airframe will start to nose down and loose altitude, slowly pull back the Cyclic to zero the drop in height (if you increase thrust instead, you will simply accelerate into the ground faster), don't worry the aircraft will keep accelerating. At about 100 to 120 knots the cyclic should be around centre or Neutral on the cyclic gauge. With the current flight model I have the cyclic back -2 inches at 140 to 150 knots. The hook is designed to have the cyclic centred and the airframe level during forward flight.... weird. 2 HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled. DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), DLSS setting is quality at 1.0. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC... Everything needs upgrading in this system!. Vaicom user and what a superb freebie it is! Virpil Mongoose T50M3 base & Mongoose CM2 Grip (not set for dead stick), Virpil TCS collective with counterbalance kit (woof woof). Virpil Apache Grip (OMG). MFG pedals with damper upgrade. Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound... goodbye VRS.
