F16 hook don't raise up

The hook goes down correctly, but no longer goes back up. Tested in flight at low speeds, and also on the ground. The only way is to have the plane repaired.

The more you sweat in peacetime, the less you bleed in war.

Being an emergency only hook, is it supposed to retract?  I don’t think it has the hydraulics to do that.

You cannot fully raise the hook. Once lowered, mechanics need to push it into place again.

Hi,

the hook should raise enough to allow taxi, but requires a repair to fix it back to the stowed position.

HOOK Switch. This switch extends the hook for emergency arrestment on airfields equipped with an
arrestment system. However, once the hook is dropped, it cannot be fully retracted from the cockpit. (N/I)

thank you
