Hi Conuk,

Sorry to hear that, I believe it's the first report I see since the alternate download was setup, did anyone else have problems?

Just downloaded the 720p and 1080p versions without a problem. Pausing and resuming one of the downloads worked as well. (I was using Firefox, BTW).

Hi guys, with the alternate (current) download setup, where all you do is go to the product page and click on the resolution text and the download starts, you shouldn't need to pause it and resume to be able to complete it. Let me know if you have any more issues.

In the meantime work on FSBT-02 and a fix for the cart download problem continues.

First of all, I want to say “Job well done” for the LET team. Honestly, much better than I expected. Very nice methodological approach, expert video editing, everything is nice and clear for the first lesson.

Just couple of things I could suggest for the next lessons regarding the Weather Briefing:

-In pdf document with lesson description there is short weather info. There you can see Wind: 1m/s. I would suggest adding direction (in the video you did that, so you say Wind 1m/s from 074 I think). Knowing the direction of the wind is very important for aviation. On the other hand, 1m/s is less than 2kts, and in aviation wind that is lighter than 2kts is considered as “calm”, so in this case you can just say “Wind calm”.

-Also in the same document it says cloud coverage is 3/8, and on the video is it Sky Clear, but this is not a big deal. :D

-Regarding the visibility (it says “Unlimited”), maybe it is different in different countries, or there could be difference between FAA and ICAO, but usually for unlimited visibility there is mark 9999 or “ten kilometers”.

-Also what I would like to suggest for the future lessons is to integrate METAR weather briefing. It is used by pilots world wide, it is not hard to learn, it is simple, and I think it would add much for the immersion (you know, being able to understand a bunch of numbers and letters would make people feel like real pilot).

Oh, and I almost forgot in lesson summary, you say “We learned that we control our helicopter with the Cyclic and the Collective. Don’t forget about Rudder Pedals! Verrrrryyyy important for helicopter pilots. ;)

Again, congratulations on the beginning of great lessons serial. Thanks LET!

Hi Igor, thanks for the review, good stuff! Here are my comments:

Thanks again, I'm happy that it exceeded the expectations!

Ha! You're the first one to catch that, nice going ;). Yeah, that was only noticed after the files went out...

This is an interesting point, as you are right, although I believe you can actually pronounce it "unlimited" if it says 9999, but on paper it will say 9999.

You know, I was trying to over-simplify it, but I guess the best would be to use METARs and just teach people how to read them.

Oh, and I almost forgot in lesson summary, you say “We learned that we control our helicopter with the Cyclic and the Collective. Don’t forget about Rudder Pedals! Verrrrryyyy important for helicopter pilots. ;)

That was left out on purpose, we didn't want to overwhelm the student, as we have a whole lesson on controls (FSBT-04) that will cover that and much more.

Again, congratulations on the beginning of great lessons serial. Thanks LET!

Thanks again man!

grabbed the files again this morning Miguel.

no problems this time - constant speed. Looked through the PDFS - excellent touch, design looks very impressive. Will watch movie tonight when Captain 1 year old retires to bed ;)

Thanks for the quick response Miguez!!!

You know, all the things I suggested, like implementing METAR and things like that, still have to be carefully taken. DCS community is proven to be willing to learn new things, it is not like bunch of people who just want to jump in cockpit and “try” to fly.

Still some things (like learning METAR) could overload them and cause the opposite effect.

So once again, these were just suggestions, maybe you should investigate how high level of realism does the community want in the briefings and other stuff.

And in the previous post I forgot to praise the LET team for the cover documentation (maps, diagrams, user guide, miz file…). Really more than expected! You must have spent very large amount of work and time on this project...

Welcome back Conuk! How was it, was it just like the pictures promised?

We are having to integrate a brand new shopping cart, a job that takes a whole lot more work than expected, and move the website in the process, something that is taking us much longer than expected. The good news is we are learning a lot, so if we ever have to do it again, it'll be much easier.

Once that's all said and done we will release FSBT-02.

Yeah for once exactly like the photos! Only very very expensive for drinks sadly... But we coped ;)

Good to hear LET still moving onwards - no pressure just eager to get the next one ;)

Last I read miguez was waiting to answer some questions about the next part which was going to be in September... so not sure where its at. Hope its not dead because the first part seemed really good quality. Was looking forward to the rest.

I am also looking forward to the second lesson, really great work, miguez!

I thought the lessons were recorded and "only" need some more postprocessing. So I was hoping for a higher frequency of releases, like every two weeks (since there are 33 more lessons to go not speaking of Combat school :smartass: ). With this frequency, it would last 10 years to get the basics ;) .

I sure hope this is still going to develop into a series.

As a newbie to BS, the learning curve is steep and at times can be a little overwhelming, but I can sit down with this Startup video and learn with ease.

There are guys with knowledge, and those with the ability to teach and be understood, this guy has it all.

A nice quote at the end of the video.....

Tell me, and I will forget.

Show me, and I may remember.

Involve me, and I will understand.

oh.....and I need to say......ED......you release the most complex Sim to date....and the first thing you break in the patch......are the tutorials....Genius....pure Genius. :disgust:
