Zardiz Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Very well made, in all levels. Easy to follow up, not too hasty, and detailed info "what am I doing and why". English is not my native language but I had no trouble following up, what really surprised me, usually this happens on more complex explanations of systems, all I can say, well done. To be honest, I would even donate for your effort and pay that $50 for final product, but the current financial downfall is bad enough for my budget, but I would still buy the final product for that price. Total Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 (edited) Outstanding job! Well composed and easy to follow. Many other videos gave the "how" but the "why" provides a geater understanding of what's actually going on :) I would suggest providing a basic white background/black text version fo the checklist for thoe of us who do not have color printers ;) Edited June 12, 2009 by Total
miguez Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Hi guys, Still monitoring, some great feedback so far, makes me happy! Thanks for all the compliments. Total, that's a great idea, I'll do that for sure!
hilikusopus Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 I love the tutorial. It's logical, clear, and gives great explanations (especially with regard to conducting certain tests). I'd be interested in buying a collection of tutorials. I'm a noob and need all the help I can get! Again, great job!

Mad Dog 7.62 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Its a nice video and I like the detail it goes into. I am not sure many people would pay $50 for it though....if you could do it for $20 or so I think it would sell pretty well. Just my 2 cents though. Guest SilentDeparture Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 As a Black Shark Rookie, I thought this first video was not only helpful but informative as well. If it's a sign of what would be available in the future, I'd highly consider making a purchase for the series. Thanks for your hard work in creating this!
rain94 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Miguez!! Great start. I learned so much. Very impressed. Will definitely purchase. I love the way that you explain things. Thanks for the first video. good luck:thumbup:

Zardiz Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 anything new? Havent heard anything for awhile now, just hoping everything is still up
miguez Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Hi guys, I am on my last day of vacation today, flying back home. Zardiz, things are still up :). I used some of my vacation time this week to elaborate on some ideas, and I think everyone will like what I decided to do. Tomorrow or early next week I am posting the complete plan.
miguez Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 OK gents, here we go. Based on the phenomenal feedback, this is a go!!!! Now it is down to how we shall make this happen. After thinking about different options, and taking what everyone said in consideration, here's how it will work. Instead of creating the whole series at once and putting it into a DVD, which would take 6 months or more, I have decided to break it apart into small bites, probably varying from 30 minutes to 1h30m individual videos. These videos will be available online, so no one has to wait for a DVD to ship and arrive. They would also be organized under certain categories. Each bold section will be one or more videos. The following list is not final, but here's how they might look: Helicopter Flying Intro to Helicopters Helicopter Aerodynamics Helicopter Flight Controls Helicopter Performance Basic Flight Maneuvers Advanced Flight Maneuvers Navigation Emergencies and Abnormals Black Shark Systems Electrical Hydraulic Avionics (ABRIS, Basic Flight Instruments, EKRAN, VHF Radios, PVI-800) Defense Engine and APU Ice and Rain Protection Flight Controls (including trimming) Black Shark Weapons Systems PUI-800 Weapons Status and Control Panel Laser Warning Receiver Shkval Vikhr ATGM Rockets Bombs Cannon Helmet Mounted Sight (HMS) Data Link Night Vision Goggles Black Shark Combat Tactics Planning the Mission Ingress to Attack Zone Target Recognition Coordinating Attack with Wingmen Weapons Choice Evading the Enemy Air To Air So you'd go to the website, create an account, purchase the videos you want to watch, and they are permanently available in your account. At a later date, you can buy more videos, and they'd be added to your online video library. This has several advantages, to name a few: Smaller training videos are easier to digest No waiting for me to complete the whole series. As I finish the videos, I will publish them on the website You can purchase just the ones that interest you There would be discounts for people buying most or all of the videos, so if for example there would be 12 videos available and you purchase 10, the last two would be available to you for free. That is just an example, I have not yet finalized how many videos there will be and how the discounts will work. The final price for the whole series should work out to be around $50. Each video's price will depend on how many videos there will be, which will be finalized before starting the series. Once the series is complete, for those that purchased it all, you could request a DVD set with all videos included, which should work out to be between $5 and $10 for discs, case, and shipping. I am open to suggestions, please let me know what you think. I may have forgotten one or two things in the list of training modules, but it is supposed to be all-inclusive, so if you don't see something you'd like, please indicate it and I'll confirm it will be included. I am looking forward to creating an amazing training series for all!
DivinuZ Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Sound good. However, I do like to feel like I 'own' (download) the files if I am to buy them. Simply having access to an online virtual library makes me uneasy due to the fact that I don't know how long your servers will be running (will I be able to view the videos in 10 years when I'm telling somebody how cool BS was?). Please start with the 'combat tactics' video :)
connos Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 All this will presented throw the BS game, engine??? For example Helicopter Aerodynamics how will you present it? miguez Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 All this will presented throw the BS game, engine??? For example Helicopter Aerodynamics how will you present it? Hi connos, It will be a combination of animated graphics and the game engine.
Zardiz Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Ahh you were on vacation, I missed that if you told that you were gone, absolutely great news indeed, all I could do is a big smile when I read "this is a go" :pilotfly::joystick: And the new idea of "how to do it" is as well pretty nice idea there, I could say that waiting something good is annoying, just like waiting this /¤&% DCS patch to arrive allready lol, wish we were getting that in small peaces :P Also in todays pirated world, copy protection is indeed good idea, if something costs there are ppl who just want it free and do not value the work one has seen before it... Zard
hilikusopus Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 (edited) @miguez Like DivinuZ said, I'd like the option to download the videos until the complete set were available on DVD, but you make a good point about copyprotection. That aside, I think you've put together a good plan, and I'm really looking forward to seeing it come together. As a side note, I hope you place special emphasis on tactics, as well as flesh out the details that go unspoken elsewhere (like you've done for various startup tests in your first video). That would contrast nicely with the orignal manual's dry, terse treatment, and provide some much needed context to the gameplay. cheers, hilikusopus Edited July 20, 2009 by hilikusopus
