hancerPL Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Hello I noticed a change in Point Track's viewing angle. The PT square does not appear when TGP exceeds about 15% of the aircraft heading. There has never been a PT account this small before. 1 Specialization A-10C https://vbw304.pl/
Yurgon Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Great post, thanks! Do you think you could generate 2 short tracks showcasing the issue, if you still have an old DCS installation available? Otherwise, just one track would be helpful to be able to at least have a baseline scenario to test against. Also, can you tell which DCS version introduced the change?

I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that you're 10 miles away from the thing you are looking at vs 5 like in the first picture and your SA cue is all the way to edge of the screen in all of them....
jaylw314 Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 (edited) It's not just the azimuth (direction) that determines the FOV that point tracking works, it's also the vertical angle (declination?). Somewhere a couple years ago tested the point tracking FOV, as best I could tell it's the same as the laser and gets cut off 10-20 deg below the horizon in a few directions, most notably forwards towards where the AIM-9 fins are in a standard loadout. I'm guessing it's the same whether you have an AIM-9 there or not. 45 deg off the nose to the right sounds about right Edited October 28, 2024 by jaylw314

hancerPL Posted October 30, 2024 Author Posted October 30, 2024 (edited) Thanks, it turns out the camouflage has been changed, this is very important when dealing with moving targets. It is necessary to test the tilt of the machines in the holding. Edited October 30, 2024 by hancerPL Specialization A-10C https://vbw304.pl/
