slug88 Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Exclusively Black Shark since November. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
element1108 Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 You prefer fly Lockon: Flaming Cliffs or DCS-Black-Shark?? sometimes i want fly with chopper and sometimes with jets... and what about you? Same...sometimes jets, sometimes choppers sometimes infantry (al la ARMA II)...I'm dying to fly my WWI planes as well though. Depends on the mood i guess... impatient and aggressive; lockon fighter quick and dirty; Lockon SU25/A-10 Precis, patient and technical: Black shark Face down ass up; ARMA 2 GunZ GunZ GunZ: IL-2 and soon to be Rise of Flight :)
Ricky 103 Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 BlackShark all the way never liked jetsims choppers a lot better. with jets AP and u sit there with choppers its hands on all the time
Skkuda Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Having little time to play, I´m trying to focus only in Black Shark. If time aloud for sure Im going to play Flaming Cliffs, but let me tell you some.........once play with 6DOF, its hard to go back......... Sharkster64 Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Black Shark all the way. Never really liked Lock-on, too many issues for me. Besides, I love helos and really hope that we will be getting the apache. Won't be flying anything else after that. (Unless its another helo) In fact, I start my Commercial License training in September on the Bell 47, and then onto the Bell 206B. Other than wanting to fly my whole life, flying Black Shark made me decide to pursue this career path. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Call Sign: Warhammer
104th_Crunch Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 FC for me please. Even better would be DCS:"Insert Fighter name here" 1
104th_Crunch Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Yes, Multiplayer has proven to be a way to give your games staying power and increase popularity. To be competitive in the MP market means you must have the same level of functionality in your MP game as other games do.
leafer Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Now, now. ED kept chucking along on the tundra after all these years. As you mentioned, it seems like Eons and still no dynamic campaign, no dedicated server, can't even give us a ME that allows players to see how objects appears on the map -- along with other warts and all, who is left standing? They must be doing something right. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Skkuda Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Originally wrote by The Moose But without DX10 support, EAX surround support, then this will die shortly I’m afraid Dont think so........This game has a lot of potencial. And dont forget......shortly I dont see any other Aerial combat product made by other company that deserves my atention. Just to give another opinion..... GGTharos Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 I'm surprised that you still don't understand software development - we spoke of it a while ago, remember? :D I'd say given DCS popularity, ED seems to know where and what to aim for ;) There's a lot of stuff ED wants to do, and as always, things get in if there is time to get them in. Further, your priority is not necessarily your priority - already, steps have been taken to address some issues - Acedy was able to provide Servman because ED incorporated hooks to make it possible. DCS is a huge project and, whether you like it or not, it will grow at its own pace, not yours. Predictions of it ah, dying are best not made by people who can't see the forest for the trees. Neh? ;) As well let’s be honest until the day ED creates the ability of a dedicated server, then the popularity of DCS will be very minimal, DCS server available as we speak 10 or so, IL2 that has that ability? 100+. I’m surprise that dedicated server option was not up on a priority list? Heck at this point I’m wondering who the hell does your marketing strategies. But then again this is just my opinion. Been playing PC for what? EONs? As many of us know’s that this feature was flag so many time and would be required for the best survival for this sim? Does your Marketing officer feel the same way? If not then he needs a wake up pill. No disrespect, but it’s time for ED to bring the caliber they are able too. It’s for them to take the blue or red pill (quoting matrix) Best wishes. GGTharos Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Without a dedicated server options, then already you have limited life that ED has & will live or die. Assuming things didn't progress aside from adding modules/aircraft, ED is going to be alive for a decade still - and new features keep making it in. Cut the paranoia. UP the GAME or lose the few you already have. Dam how hard to figure this out. True, not questionning the promming style of ED. How hard is it for you to figure out that things take time? I understand that despite this being repeated, people fail to remember and understand it - not all, but plenty. ED has a lot of things on their plate, not just our little hobby. In the business world, there exists such a thing as priorities. Market wise has ED Marketing guru been good? Dam the product is STILL not available in CANADA in OTTAWA. YOU found it publicly Ghost? Well I live in the same area and NO, it`s not available in our Nations Capital. go figure. Product =100 Marketing & distribution well = a 5%. I don't know what the deal with Canadian distributors is. On the other hand, I know DCS is selling like hotcakes elsewhere. One city does not the world make ;) My 2 cents. Heck I could sell more copies then what ED is trying for the Canadian market.,..I see millions in potentials...But for some reason the product is STILL NOT available in OTTAWA...go figure marketing guru that ED has hired needs a wip ass. IMO with respect There you go again, assuming you know other people's business. GGTharos Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Again, you are assuming you know other people's business. You don't. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
GGTharos Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Fact: Do you have any clue what happened with the distribution? No. Therefore you're still assuming you know other people's business. You know that you don't have DCS in Ottawa. And that is all you know. The rest is nothing but your assumption. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
GGTharos Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Take Two is the north american distributor for Black Shark and is doing the best they can to get it in all stores. It's completely out of TFC/ED's hands. Given the genre of the game, not all stores will purchase copies for resale. Unfortunately, this has been the case more so in Canada than in the US. ED Team JimMack Posted June 20, 2009 ED Team Posted June 20, 2009 Thanks for the info. As mention I`m just curious as FACT how come canadians got the ''left overs'' for the ones that was able to get the software. How come they distribute only in the west? Has the East population been bad sinners not deserving this product? Wheres the facts into this GG? Ottawa included... I can assure you that we are putting pressure on Take2 to improve distribution in Canada. Unfortunately they can not force retailers to take the title! A tactic to use that would help us is to ask the manager of your local store to take the product, and keep pestering him/her. This tactic was used in the UK for the GAME chain of stores. GAME initially only took BS in 10% of stores, and after a month is now in 90%. Having problems? leafer Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 And back to regular programming...after FC, I eventually stopped flying the other aircraft. And the trend lives on with BS. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Northstar Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 None of the above.... See DRM IL2 from Ubisoft is my much prefered flight of fantasy
tflash Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Well, I still prefer flying Lockon:FC. But that doesn't mean I do not like DCS:BS, quite on the contrary: the very best title of the moment, without any doubt! I'm very glad ED still keeps some options open on Lockon:FC franchise. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
leafer Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I agree, Northstar. IL2 is definitely a flight of fantasy. I recall timing the take off distance - empty and armed to the teeth, the IL2 lifted off at the exact same place on the runway. I even clocked it; I think it was something like 6 or 7 seconds. Never fail. Exact same place and up I go into the yonder. In DCS, try loading weird configuration on the hardpoints then see and feel the effect that does to the ka50. Jettison a store and whomp...oh wait, you can't. :D Anyway, BS is light years ahead of the IL2 series. So many things can happen to your ka50 so discovering them is a joy in and of itself. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
HitchHikingFlatlander Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Same as others depends on the mood but given the complexity of BS vs. LOFC I spend more time with the Shark at the moment. http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
HansRoaming Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Apples and Oranges, both have their plus points as does IL2. I enjoy flying and shooting up things and for me it is not an either or question I enjoy them all. Right now I love BS and can't wait for the other DCS modules.
Roche Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I think we all love something of LO that we can't let go.. I have spent a lot of time flying in BS but I can't hold my self pressing F2 looking for any A-10 flying around punding ground targets and F-15 chasing Migs. I think I even create missions on BS with a lot of planes on purpose.. I now deep inside of me that I want to fly LO, would love to have the ground unit models and the new DCS engine on LO.
