MoleUK Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 (edited) I have been running spotting dot testing for a few days, typically with 200 aircraft at a time. Performance has been fine until this update just dropped, now it has cratered. Hundreds of non-moving ground units don't seem to cause the same performance drop, and facing away from the moving air units doesn't stop the CPU from getting clogged up. So I assume this is the AI pathfinding / AI thread clog bug again. Please try replaying this at 1080p. 200 F5 performance test new patch.trk 200 F5 performance test new patch.miz Edited December 25, 2024 by MoleUK Title update to reflect source of problem. 3
MoleUK Posted December 24, 2024 Author Posted December 24, 2024 (edited) Replacing the F5 I was sitting in with another aircraft appears to solve the problem, at least if that aircraft has no radar active. Either all the old tracks had the radar defaulted off, or this new performance drop is related to the F-5 radar (or any radar possibly) having to deal with excessive amounts of air units. At least at a guess. Edited December 24, 2024 by MoleUK
MoleUK Posted December 24, 2024 Author Posted December 24, 2024 Luckily I actually recorded some footage of one of the tracks in the F5 yesterday and this morning. The radar was always on, so I would double check that nothing has gone wrong re: radar performance. I didn't see any listed radar changes in the patch notes.
FZG_Immel Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Same issue with the F-5E. they effed something up 1 [sIGPIC]https://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic70550_3.gif[/sIGPIC] Asus Z390-H - SSD M.2 EVO 970 - Intel I9 @5.0ghz - 32gb DDR4 4000 - EVGA 3090 - Cougar FSSB + Virpil WRBRD + Hornet Stick - Thrustmaster TPR Pedal + WinWing MIP + Orion + TO and CO pannels - Track IR5

FZG_Immel Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 yes, I even tried on the ground before having electric current on the plane. same issue. its the F-5E remaster which is the issue. NO PROBLEM at all with the F-4E for example. Also, i just come back from the cold war server, and other players have the same issue. very very odd thing I just tried jumping in the F-5E in the online server and dont have the issue anymore. now its fine. but offline not. I dont get it [sIGPIC]https://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic70550_3.gif[/sIGPIC] Asus Z390-H - SSD M.2 EVO 970 - Intel I9 @5.0ghz - 32gb DDR4 4000 - EVGA 3090 - Cougar FSSB + Virpil WRBRD + Hornet Stick - Thrustmaster TPR Pedal + WinWing MIP + Orion + TO and CO pannels - Track IR5

I dont get it Special K suggested this was due to core parking not being disabled. While I disabed core parking quite some time ago, a windows update looks to have reset some things. I will check back later to see if it's still disabled, and if disabling it resolves the performance loss. Edited December 25, 2024 by MoleUK
MoleUK Posted December 25, 2024 Author Posted December 25, 2024 I managed to get time to double check, my cores are unparked. So it's not that, at least not on my system (5800X3D).

Psychotoddler Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 Same issue with F5. I elected not to upgrade.
Qcumber Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I'm getting the same issue. The F5 has always run well on my system. One of the less demanding modules. Even the update ran well. Since the latest update I am getting very unstable frame times. I compared a run over the N2 map in the F5 with a p51. Both had similar CPU and GPU utilisation (about 65-70% for GPU). The p51 flight was very smooth. The F5 flight had lots of micro stutters. 9800x3d - rtx5080 FE - 64Gb RAM 6000MHz - 2Tb NVME - Quest Pro (previous rift s and Pico 4). Psychotoddler Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I think it might be the new audio. I get 90s in the briefing screen. If I press fly it drops down to 10 fps. If I pause it shoots back to 90s.

SparrowLT Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 (edited) I cant play online with the F-5E now (legacy i guess..its not the remastered).. game practically freezes or goes to single digit FPS.. However the flamming cliffs one works good here are screenshots ..first of the normal F-5E doing 5fps and then i spawned next (same server same session same place and time) a FC2024 F-5E (bottom cap) Edited December 30, 2024 by SparrowLT
