Hi @Flappie, after the latest DCS and PiMax updates, also installing Iraq map, I am getting random CTD and BSOD crashes. After sending the attached crash report to ED I received a blue screen system crash. Is there anything in the logs that you see that's helpful. Also, speaking of Iraq, which I wish I can get a refund, I can barely fly on it. My frames are horrible mostly around the mountains and Baghdad. The crashes have been happening in the AFG map, which has been flawless up until recently. In the meantime, I'll continue testing on other maps. Please see my settings below and let me know if there's more info needed. Thanks in advance!!!

You have a lot of setting pretty high, so I'd start with cutting back on those if you're having performance issues.  If you hover over the options they will show you how much hit you are taking.

But if you're getting BSOD in game, that's much more likely a hardware or Windows problem than a DCS problem.

And at the end you're getting a

# C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 00007ffe076703a7 00:00000000

which is one that comes up but I haven't seen a specific fix for.

Thanks but my settings were working smoothly before this latest update. I just completed a mission in AFG which is good, however, I was getting really bad stutters for about 30 seconds every 5 minutes. No scripts or mods either.

Hi @pimp. You shouldn't have this message in your log:

2025-01-18 19:48:41.624 WARNING EDCORE (Main): CPU HAS PARKED LOGICAL CORES (this can be source of stuttering and reduced performance especially on hybrid CPUs with P/E-cores)

Parking cores was a workaround for a DCS MT bug, but this bug got fixed in late 2024.

Try unparking all of your CPU cores. Also, don't use Process Lasso or anything else. Let your CPU do its thing.

This helped me. I had random crashes, so I uninstalled Process Lasso and made sure to unpark my CPU cores (I have a 13700K). DCS is running much, much better now.

hi @Flappie @currenthill, I no longer use PL since you told me it's no longer needed a few months ago. How do you "Unpark CPUs"?

Hi @Flappie,

Just had a crash in the Iraq map going up a mountain near Bashir airport in the Apache. My frames started tanking with bad stutters and then DCS CTD'd. I am not seeing parked cores in this latest log. Is there anything you can see that caused the crash?

Thank in advance!!!

Thanks@Flappie but I don't have anything in my registry like this. I even ran the OpenXR Layer GUI app and nothing showed up.

You seem to have very different crash messages. This makes me think your issue could be related to a RAM issue.

But before that, if you haven't tried yet, try a DCS cleanup and a DCS repair first.

You should scan your RAM using MemTestt86:

If you don't find issues after all this, you should open a support ticket on DCS website:

  1. Log in.
  2. Click Support.
  3. Click Create a new ticket.

Hi @Flappie,

So I ran the memory tester. On the first run I made sure XMP was enabled in my BIOS, then ran the mem test and it failed within a few minutes with a bunch of errors. So the second time I disabled XMP and it passed but it ran for 4 hours and 50 minutes. Is it necessary to do another run? If so, with or without XMP?
