kgb035 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 I'm not exactly IT savvy so wondering if someone can go through a step by step guide as to how you try this DLSS 4 out in DCS. I've got the latest Nvidia driver and the Nvidia App. From what I read I need to add DCS to the games in the graphics section of the App, but how do I do that? Do I just click on the Eagle Dynamics Folder on my hard drive? Fear if I mess about blindly I'll screw things up? I have a 3090 card so interested to see if it improves performance. If it doesn't be good to know how to undo changes. On behalf of what I believe to be a significant number of folks who have very limited knowledge of what their PC/CPU/GPU is actually doing, thanks in advance for any help that can be provided

Esac_mirmidon Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) @kgb035 Just download the new dll file 310.2.1.0 https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/ Download Nvidia Inspector https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases Download the XML file https://github.com/Leguama/Nvidia-Profile-Inspector-XML-file/blob/main/CustomSettingNames.xml Unzip Inspector and put the XML file inside de Nvidia inspector folder Copy the dll file nvngx_dlss.dll inside DCS World Bin-MT folder and Bin folder (overwrite the existing file - make a backup first) Open nvidia Inspector and choose J or K profile like this and done, Open DCS choose DLAA or DLSS ( quality - balanced - perfomance ) Edited February 1 by Esac_mirmidon 6 " You must think in russian.." kgb035 Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 Thank you for this info. PC just finished backing up and a bit late to dive in to this lot now but I'll be taking a look tomorrow evening.
motoadve Posted February 1 Posted February 1 How can I confirm I have it working? Also I use DLAA , if I only use DLAA with this help it make it better?
Esac_mirmidon Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Im using DLAA only also and is working. There are on screen info layers with the dll versión and profile used to check, but i dont use that. I can check the resulta just looking inside DCS. Is obvious the improvement. 1 " You must think in russian.." Notarobot Posted February 2 Posted February 2 When doing this, i don't have to set these to 00001? null
sleighzy Posted February 2 Posted February 2 (edited) The instructions on this thread are pretty complicated and tools have progressed to make this easier over the last few days. Install this latest version of Nvidia Profile Inspector (Revamped) which has user friendly drop downs. As per the screenshots there just enable DLSS-SR Override and then select the preset in the DLSS-SR Preset drop-down. The one labeled “Latest” is also K https://github.com/xHybred/NvidiaProfileInspectorRevamped?tab=readme-ov-file Using the above means you do not need to replace any dlls in DCS, it will automatically use the DLSS version in the driver. You can install DLSS Tweaks and set the ForceOverrideHud value to Enabled (All DLLs) and it will show a debug overlay in the game so you can verify that you are using the latest version and the correct preset. Note, the Nvidia App does not support adding DCS or making changes. You should uninstall this and the driver and then reinstall the driver only, don’t install the Nvidia App. Edited February 2 by sleighzy 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
sleighzy Posted February 2 Posted February 2 (edited) For folk who want to actually replace the DLSS dll files in the DCS bin and bin-mt folders, vs the approach from my earlier comment above, there is no need to download the dll and copy manually. Just use DLSS Swapper as it will handle this for you. Just add the top level DCS game folder as a new game to it so it can automatically find both the bin and bin-mt folders. https://github.com/beeradmoore/dlss-swapper Note, if you take this approach you’ll still need something like DLSS Tweaks to set the preset (which you should use to verify the correct preset is being used via the hud overlay anyway). It provides an easy means to force override the global nvidia profile value without needing to copy any DLSS Tweaks files into the DCS folders. Notarobot Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Well, i can't tell if it's working so it's probably not. I really hope ED will make a hotfix for this soon and implement it. This is kind of a big deal, we don't often get visual improvements for free so please hurry up ED

Should I have more files that these? null vnvgx.dll is not installed in the binMT folder, should it be there? null The easiest way is to not put any DLSS Tweaks files in DCS. Just open the DLSSTweaksConfig app and then set the GlobalForcedPreset value in the drop down to the preset you want to use. For the hud overlay make sure you have selected Enable (All DLLs), for some people they only see this in 2D and not VR (I'd don't know why) so start the game in 2D and see if it appears. You must be in the plance to see it, it won't show up when you're just in the game menu. If you do decide to play with other settings then you should place those files you put in bin-mt in the bin folder as well because the game may be using the bin folder (this is the default now). The nvngx.dll from DLSSTweaks does not already exist within DCS. You need to rename it to dxgi.dll first (it does not work with the name nvngx.dll) and then put it in bin and bin-mt. Feel free to DM me if you get stuck. For you I would just use the global approach and not put any files in DCS, you likely do not want to change any of the other settings at this stage. 7 hours ago, dureiken said: Hi this shows it's working and the good one ? thanks Yes that is correct. 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
