I Just want to warn people about buying from WINWING from china. I had a really bad experience, bought a HOTAS and it hot stuck at the customs, they returned it to winwing, and they didn't want to resend it to me and they've kept the money. Basically stole from me.

Instead of shipping the hots in a single box like warthog or logitech does, they send separate little boxes like 5 of them and so the customs reject them because they think its 5 prods of the same product when max is 3.

What timespan are we talking about, because we are in chinese new year, so I wouldn't be surprised if things aren't handled as quickly

Do you have confirmation WW has received the return goods?

Not surprised by frustrated forum members. 😉

Your warning is fair and I appreciate that, since I personally have the issue with the throttle product from another vendor.

The ticket is still open with no confirmation of replacement, and I just got told to buy another product (!!!) by one of discord mođs, when I suggested improvement which would make it easier and faster to replace detent sets.

I guess better to vote with the wallet next time...

peoples experiences with that company vary from okay to appalling. I'm guessing you've already tried but if you haven't, raise the issue on any/all of the ww or general hotas discords. It seems to have helped the occasional person get a positive result.

if it's not because of a major error on your part (other than generally buying from ww) and you definitely will not receive the items plus have no recourse, I'd be spreading the word everywher

Their website malfunctioning was enough to put me off.  Lucky for me the control panel I wanted was available on Amazon where one gets the option to send it back.

I've had no problems with customs (other than being slapped with a tax I didn't expect), but I guess this varies by country. Yeah, Winwing sends everything in separate boxes, it makes sense, but I guess it's a bother if you have limits on how many boxes can be in the package. That said, this situation with customs is ridiculous. For how much they charge for shipping, UPS should do better than "oops, tried once, didn't go through, let's haul it all the way back to China".

In general, ordering from China these days will be difficult in many countries, and if you're in the US... try to get a ticket out while you still can, I guess.

Got loads of their stuff, not had a problem with any of it although I feel your pain as I have had plenty of goods held by the good old customs teams. Customs are their own entity, they are nothing to do with the carriers or Winwing. They paid to send you goods and its not their fault customs were dicks about it. Yes there are lots of boxes, but that's how they have always shipped them. carriers are a PITA...all of them, but customs are a whole different level. They can hold your parcel for any reason they like, for months on end and there's zero you can do about it. 

 

For this reason I only order on the UK site to get goods to the UK, despite the global option working out "cheaper"

I'm pretty sure WinWing and not customs has something to do with this aspect:

I think there would be more to that part of the story. If the goods were returned, they would likely need the postage paid for again to re-send it. Its not their fault it came back. I highly doubt they would keep the returned goods and just say Tough, you cant have them back. That is theft and I don't think they are thieves. 

So I will take that portion with a very small pinch of salt.

I've tried to buy a HOTAS and the pedals directly from china, it didn't came through the customs because the excessive number of individual boxes they shiped. They dont ship the hotas in a single box like a thrustmaster they just ship many smalll individual boxes. All customs have a limit. They have the worst customer support ever.

  • 1.The've changed the conditions of the sale after the shipment. After the boxes where ship back to china, they changed "on propuse" the shipment locations removing mine.
  • 2.When they've got the boxes back they invented they had an import tax of the same amount of the purchase (which is ridiculous) this is to avoid reinbursing.
  • 3.They've refused to reimburse me

I'm just sharing what happened to me. They didn't care to re-send (I would of pay again for the shipment if necessary) or reimburse me, or give me any solution ,plus they've changed the sale conditions after the sale. They are dishonest. In any case, I want to visualize this so it doesnt happend to other people. Believe what you want.
