Let's just hope the Russians don't rush with the testing and ruin the possible abilities of the plane... Yes, it looks strange, but I hope it'll be on a par with the Raptor, if not better.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

Nice, finally they have it flying. Many Russians surely were a little bit proud today. Now let's see how soon it enters service. Oh and learning some facts about it would be nice too.

It doesn't look as ugly as I expected it to be. Yet it's no beauty either, so I'll keep the Flanker as my Avatar. :P

In all likelyhood the planes shape will change before production beggins.

I agree. Based on what we`ve seen with Raptor and others there should be some improvements over the shape of the prototype. Speaking about stealth I`m a little concerned with the rear part and with the round nozzles but F-35 also has round nozzle so... Another solution could be this: http://sitelife.aviationweek.com/ver1.0/Content/images/store/3/6/63d024fb-bea6-4f16-9654-09d1f402892f.Large.jpg

But nonetheless the shape has potential for changes, let`s see how it will be in few years from now...

Edit: I wonder if it has S-shape inlets similar to those in YF-23?

It looks good to me. Vertical stabilizers are very small. I assume 3D thrust vectoring is then very defective. I wonder what is inside a massive tail cone? Radar?

'Chute for sure, but might also be a rear looking radar, as that wont be first time they've done that. :smilewink:

probably most good video at this moment.

They did a pretty high AOA take off for a first test flight :)

There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

The center fuselage looks almost the same as YF-23. But the Russians apparently gave their bird a bigger weapons bay, hence the large fuselage/wing extensions for fuel most likely.

IMHO I would just add a bigger diamond wing à lá Yf-23

I don't think it is a chute. Take a look at the 0:33 of the below youtube video. It looks like the chute pops out from the top of the cone.

1:37 on below video clearly shows the chute popping up from the top of the cone.

Woohoo it's here and looks good! Luckily the design looks pretty original. Of course the similar stealth shapes as in others but if someone calls it a direct copy, I'll tell him to go see an oculist. Since we don't know much about it, the main things to me right now is that it flies and looks good.

Gay marriage? Wow, what a level of imagination!?
