Divadov Posted March 1 Posted March 1 There are 2 years that I'm off and I'm starting again with DCS. After start-up procedure, the ailerons are up and I can't down with trimmer keys. I have request to other pilots and tell me that it's a bug, sometimes happens. Pushing T/O and FCS RESET buttons, the ailerons don't go to middle position. There are new procedures to do that?
Solution Tholozor Posted March 1 Solution Posted March 1 (edited) Pitch trim with flaps set to AUTO doesn't trim the stabs the way you would expect with flaps set to HALF or FULL. With flaps in AUTO, pitch trim changes the FCS' G-command. With flaps in HALF or FULL, pitch trim changes the FCS' AoA-command (use this to manually adjust the stab positions on the ground). Depressing and holding the T/O Trim button commands the stabs to 12° nose-up (providing a TRIM advisory). The FCS Reset button doesn't change anything regarding the position of any of the control surfaces, it only clears transient errors on the FCS page. With flaps in AUTO, HALL of FULL the back ailerons are up in all cases.

They are not going into neutral position by themself. If you want them to go to the neutral position, you either have to shut down and start up the aircraft or put the flaps to half or full and then use the pitch trim to get them into the neutral position. But I am not sure why you want them to go to the neutral position. There is no reason to do that... Edited March 2 by razo+r 1
Divadov Posted March 2 Author Posted March 2 Starting in hot mode, I can move the back ailerons with trimmer keys to 0 to have it in neutral position; it's normal?

Yes because you have the flaps set to half. When you set the flaps to half or full, you can trim the stabs to the neutral position, just like Tholozor mentioned. With flaps set to auto, it is NOT possible to move the stabs with the pitch trim on the ground. Edited March 2 by razo+r 1

The problem that I have is that I can only put the back ailerons in the neutral position downing the trimmer to "0". I have re-read the chuck manual and they explain that the neutral position is "12". This is my problem with FA-18C, the FCS page dont works for me, I need to see in visual if the back aileron is in the middle position.

This is not the case in the Hornet. There's zero reason to force the tail to be perfectly horizontal, and this is very much not a neutral position. 2

You're doing unnecesary things for reasons i can't seem to figure out. The jet is always going to start at its "normal" stabilator T/O trim of 12 degree's, you then increase it as required based on gross weight. There's nothing you need to do beyond this. It defaults to that on startup so your systems are working as intended.
