Gunner4968 Posted Monday at 05:57 AM Posted Monday at 05:57 AM Trying to follow the Manual bombing tutorial. I did look through the Forum and did not see anything that helped. Once set to CCIP Mode in the Bomb information page, the HUD never reflects this bombing mode. It stays set to AUTO. Kind of a rookie here, please help if you can. 1
Nealius Posted Monday at 06:07 AM Posted Monday at 06:07 AM If a target is designated in the system it defaults to AUTO mode as US Navy doctrine is to drop in AUTO, which is different than the USAF doctrine (mainly F-16 as far as I know) is to drop in CCIP. You can hit the NWS button (once or twice, it's been a while) to undesignate the target and the CCIP pipper should appear.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted Monday at 10:08 AM ED Team Posted Monday at 10:08 AM Hi As Nealius mentioned, If a target is designated, say a waypoint designation, then it is defaulted to AUTO (CCRP), regardless of what he chooses on the stores page. thank you Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Gunner4968 Posted Monday at 11:30 AM Author Posted Monday at 11:30 AM Thanks, I was working on the laser guided bombing just prior to this tutorial, and I was over focused on target designation.
Gunner4968 Posted Tuesday at 06:49 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 06:49 AM Hope I'm not taking advantage of your time. I searched the F18C section and was not able to find exactly my problem. I am including a track where I was simply trying to drop iron bombs on any target. I carefully checked my Weapons Release button on my stick to make sure it was set to Weapons Release. I have been able to fire rockets with that pickle button. After each attemp to drop any of the bombs on my load, I checked to see if any bombs were missing under the jet. It seems like a very simple thing. I have copied the video tutorials exactly and still no bomb release. I am useing the CCIP mode. I have not tried Manual mode. That might be my next step. If you have any idea what I could be doing wrong, please lay it on me. As always, ever grateful for your time. Bombs Will Not Release.trk
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted Tuesday at 08:46 AM ED Team Posted Tuesday at 08:46 AM Hey @Gunner4968 We try to keep one issue per topic as things get complicated quicky usually. But let's open an exception here. We've looked at you track and indeed it's noted you press the pickle button and the bombs do not release. However, taking control of your aircraft, pressing and holding the pickle button for about 1 second, the bombs do drop on our side. This could mean you're not pressing the button long enough. If you think that's not the issue, try another button or the keyboard command (RAlt + Space) to confirm it. Again, we found no issues with the bomb pickle if parameters to drop are met. hope that helps Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Gunner4968 Posted Tuesday at 11:56 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 11:56 AM Sorry about the mis step, and I will try the keyboard option. Thanks again.

Gunner4968 Posted Tuesday at 12:37 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 12:37 PM Have followed the tutorial for CCIP bombing, and tried both the keyboard command "RAlt + Space" and my weapons release pickle button on my stick. All I see is the drop line in the hud flashing. The bombs still do not release. Thinking about reloading DCS. Bombs Will Not Release2.trk

Make sure you're pulling the gear up as soon as you get positive rate of climb. The gear's airpseed limit is 250 knots. 3 1
Solution Gunner4968 Posted Tuesday at 06:17 PM Author Solution Posted Tuesday at 06:17 PM Wow, that was the problem. Really have to be quick on the gear! I started a new topic last time because that is what I thought I was being told to do. Then it was combined. On getting the iron bombs to release, each time I dropped a bomb, a new bomb would re-appear under the jet. What the heck! I get the feeling I may not live long enough to master this thing. Why would the bombs regenerate after each drop? Should I have put this in a new topic?

Check for unlimited ammunition check box on DCS main menu option and in the mission options if you made the mission yourself. You have to take it easy on learning the module. First, get familiar with the core sim and options such as unlimited ammunition, then start slow by flying the aircraft in a proper manner before trying anything with weapons. You're only overwhelming your experience by getting it all at once. Cheers, have fun. 1
Gunner4968 Posted Tuesday at 10:24 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 10:24 PM Excellent point. That is exactly what I have been doing. However, this sim is so much fun, it is hard to slow down. I will try. Thanks for the advice. 1
