Nealius Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I've been using the new fox feature to recreate reduced visibility from haze, and it looks very good, though I recently discovered that the fog thickness in-game maxes out somewhere in the 7000ft block, while the thickness slider in the Mission Editor will allow us to set very high thickness levels well beyond 7000ft. 1
chaos Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Yes, it is annoying and I wonder why they put that limitation in there. A little bit more control on where the fog/haze is present is hopefully forthcoming once they flesh out the dynamic weather in DCS. 4 "It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage..."
Nealius Posted May 4 Author Posted May 4 Recent update has changed fog altitude to max out at the lowest cloud base height regardless of ME height setting.

Not really, since the fog height setting still effectively does nothing when you set a value higher than cloud base height. Fog height should reflect the numerical setting in the ME regardless of where the clouds are, particularly if one is using it to create haze rather than fog. Doubly so on maps at higher elevations like Afghanistan where sub-10nm visibility is fairly standard for the region. Edited May 6 by Nealius
